The taste of the soup was a bit bitter and tart, to be honest, it wasn’t very pleasant to drink.
But thinking about how it was Le Tong’s ticulous effort that went into making it, Ji Rui drank it all with an expression of enjoynt.
Originally, he was worried about what strange concoction this so-called tonic soup of Le Tong’s could be and whether it would have any odd effects after drinking it.

Ji Rui picked up Baobao by the waist and got out of bed.
"Mommy is making breakfast. Are you going to help, Daddy?"
"Sure, I’ll co after I brush my teeth."
Ji Rui put Baobao down and went to the bathroom. As he was squeezing toothpaste, he caught a glimpse of the little guy lingering by the door.
"Sothing on your mind?" Ji Rui glanced askance at the little one and stuffed the toothbrush into his mouth.
"Yuanyuan is getting married..." The little guy’s eyes showed a bit of disdain as well as a hint of contempt.
Ji Rui paused, spat out the foam in his mouth, and rinsed it with water.
"Who told you? Grandpa?"
Ji Rui assud the Luo Family had already announced the news.
Baobao shook his head, "No, it’s Yuanyuan who told . She even asked to be her flower girl."
"Did you agree?"
"Yes, but actually, I’d rather be the flower girl at Daddy and Mommy’s wedding," Baobao murmured softly, eyes fixed on Ji Rui for a while before asking, "Daddy, when are you and Mommy getting married?"
Ji Rui’s eyes dimd as he tousled Baobao’s head, "Daddy will try his best!"
How he wished he could marry Le Tong soon! However, the current issues with the Ji Family were uncertain as to how long they’d last, and his personal matters with her would have to be set aside for the mont.

Baobao’s face fell instantly, revealing his disappointnt as he turned away dejectedly.
Feeling guilty, Ji Rui bent down to splash a handful of cold water on his face. This grim situation hadn’t been discussed with Le Tong, but soone with her intellect likely already guessed as much.
After finishing his grooming, Ji Rui changed into casual wear and entered the kitchen. Le Tong, with her back to him, was stir-frying sothing, with rich aromas filling the air, making Ji Rui’s stomach growl.
"Need any help?"

"You probably haven’t slept well these past few days. The soup from yesterday was a dietary redy from an old herbalist at the pharmacy, ant to calm and aid sleep. You seem more energetic, I’ll make another pot for you tonight."

Seeing him like this pained Le Tong, and when she visited the pharmacy yesterday, she briefly described Ji Rui’s situation to the old herbalist there, who scribbled a prescription and handed it to the clerk. Without thinking, Le Tong asked for a five-day supply.
Ji Rui then realized his restful sleep last night was all thanks to her loving essence in that broth.
"It really worked well, make more tonight. You should have so too." Ji Rui held her tight without any intention of letting go.

Chatting with Ji Rui, Le Tong thodically transferred the cooked at onto a plate, washed the pan, reheated it, added oil and garlic, and began stir-frying another dish.
Ji Rui freed up a hand to take the plate of at and suddenly rembered the words Doctor Dong had said when Baobao was not yet discharged.
"Your body isn’t in great shape either; why not have that old herbalist prescribe so tonics for you too?"
Ji Rui knew several renowned herbalists, and while asking this, he started planning to take Baobao to the hospital for a check-up later and also take Le Tong to see a well-known herbalist he knew to get her diagnosed and prescribed herbal dicine to improve her health.
Le Tong didn’t feel there was anything wrong with her health, "Who says I’m unwell? I’m perfectly fine!"
"Go ahead, boast all you want!" Ji Rui said, clearly not believing Le Tong.
"Who’s boasting? I’ve been at the Ji Family for so long, have I ever been sick?"

Baobao’s examination took longer this ti. After more than two hours of comprehensive tests, Baobao had already fallen asleep.
