"Alright, if you don’t want to, then forget it."

Ji Rui actually wanted to ask why, but seeing her gloomy face, he hesitated for a mont and swallowed his words.

If a few months ago soone had told Ji Rui that he would beco a man who spoils his girlfriend utterly, he would have said that person was beyond help with delusions.

But now, he indeed wishes he could spoil Le Tong sky-high, or rather, he hopes to.

However, Le Tong is not a woman who acts spoiled because of being pampered. Ji Rui treats her well, she knows it in her heart but doesn’t use it as a tool to make Ji Rui do her bidding.

Yet from Ji Rui’s perspective, he would rather she depend on him more, so she wouldn’t have to bear so much on her slender shoulders.

As for why she didn’t want to look for her father’s whereabouts, Le Tong also didn’t give Ji Rui any explanation, but her low spirits lasted the entire day.

Although she still worked diligently as usual, during her breaks, like when drinking water or having lunch, she seed to space out noticeably more than usual.

Ji Rui wasn’t sure if he was being paranoid, ever since Baobao’s birthday, when Le Tong took out the Jade Pendant as a birthday gift for their son, Le Tong had frequently been in a state of distraction, her wide eyes blankly staring at so unknown point.

Seeing Le Tong like this made Ji Rui feel both heartbroken and helpless.

It wasn’t until they went together to pick up Baobao, seeing the little guy happily running over, that a hint of a smile finally appeared on Le Tong’s face.

Saying he wasn’t jealous would be a lie.

Watching Le Tong, who had been sullen all day, smiling as she cuddled and coaxed Baobao, Ji Rui could only comfort himself that Baobao was a piece of Le Tong, and it’s normal for her to care more about him.

And himself, even if he’s not the first, at least, he could be the second, right?

Transforming into Ah Q, President Ji stretched out his hands, one arm lifting his son into his embrace, the other wrapping around Le Tong’s frail shoulder, pulling her close.

"Shall we go check the house first, or find a place to eat?"

At noon, Mr. Yuan called, saying that Le Tong’s little ho was finally renovated, asking her to schedule a ti to inspect the results soon.

"Baobao, what do you say?" Le Tong handed the decision over to her precious son.

"Mommy, are we going to see Baobao’s new ho?"

Logically, as he had always lived in a mansion since he was little, Le Tong’s pigeonhole-sized ho wouldn’t interest the little guy. Yet, he frequently asked when the new ho would be ready, when they could move in, showing that in his eyes, a ho doesn’t need to be big, as long as it’s filled with loved ones it can even be a small humble room, akin to paradise in his eyes.

"Mm, Uncle Yuan called at noon saying it’s finished renovating."

"Then let’s go see the new ho first, and then go out to eat, and maybe buy new furniture, okay?"

The little boy’s logic and problem-solving ability far exceeded his age, and his parents didn’t object to his suggestion. After getting in the car, Ji Rui instructed Xiao Li to drive back to Le Tong’s ho.

The small dwelling of tens of square ters, carved by Mr. Yuan’s ingenious hands, no longer had its forr rundown and cramped appearance.

Opening the door, they saw a spiral staircase made of transparent material in the center of the house, and astonishingly, the railing surrounding the spiral staircase was a uniquely designed spiral fish tank. Inside, colorful tropical fish swayed freely.

"Wow, it’s beautiful!"

As soon as Baobao walked in, his attention was completely captured by the spiral fish tank, rushing over to lean on the glass, excitedly peering at the fish and shrimp.

"I didn’t expect this change to be so brilliant!" Ji Rui earnestly praised.

Actually, the idea for the staircase and fish tank design wasn’t from Mr. Yuan but from Le Tong.

At the ti, she thought the staircase in the middle of the house looked unattractive, and later after hearing Baobao wanted to keep so fish and shrimp, she recalled the design of aquariums and suggested the idea to Mr. Yuan. Originally expecting to be mocked by the professionals, to her surprise, Mr. Yuan’s eyes lit up and he imdiately promised to take care of it.

So, with the prototype she provided and Mr. Yuan’s enhancents, this eye-catching final product was created.

"The work I recently submitted to the competition is based on Miss Le’s house design, Miss Le, you don’t mind, right? On the designer list, I’ve added your na as well."

Le Tong, like Baobao at the mont, was exploring the cupboards and small cabinets, distractedly replied to Mr. Yuan.

"Oh, whatever, we agreed initially this would be a sample house design. As for the competition, of course, there’s no problem, it’s Mr. Yuan’s work."

Clearly, she didn’t care about being credited on the design.

"Mm, if it wins an award and there’s prize money, I’ll give you half!"

Mr. Yuan believed that the staircase might be the key to the work winning an award or not.

Le Tong was surprised, looking up. "Eh? Half the prize money for ?"

"Yes! Of course, but only if it wins."

Le Tong didn’t think much of it at the ti and later when Mr. Yuan transferred what was essentially a third of the house’s value to her account, she thought the bank had made a mistake, sending a large sum into her account unexpectedly.

"Mommy mommy, Baobao wants to move here, it’s so beautiful, just like a castle in a fairy tale!"

No wonder Baobao was so fond of it, at the ti of choosing the designs, Le Tong had prioritized Baobao’s preferences in her decision-making.

"In a few days, the place just finished renovation and needs ti to air out!"

Of course, this was one reason.

Another reason was that Le Tong considered Ji Rui might still be busy for a while, but if she and Baobao moved back here, Ji Rui would inevitably follow, and without the advanced office facilities he needed, living there would be inconvenient.

"Alright then..." Baobao sounded disappointed, drooping his head, but soon he was distracted by new things in his new playroom, exclaiming in delight.

Baobao’s reaction made Ji Rui feel a bit helpless.

"I suddenly feel like I failed..." he said with a wry smile to Mr. Yuan next to him.

"This is the difference between being a dad and a mom!"

Though designed by Mr. Yuan, Baobao never showed this level of excitent toward Ji Rui’s own spacious and comfortable new apartnt.
