Talking about Ji Rui and Mr. Ji, Le Tong didn’t want to speak out of turn. From an outsider’s perspective, the conflict between the father and son seed more related to Ji Wen and Ji Wu. If one claims Mr. Ji doesn’t care at all about Ji Rui and Baobao, that might be too hasty a conclusion. However, when placing Ji Rui and Baobao on a balance against Mr. Ji’s other two sons, the other two sons definitely weigh much more.

But not saying anything doesn’t an she can easily accept Ji Rui’s arrangents.

Le Tong could understand Ji Rui’s current worries, but she couldn’t bring herself to accept his assets for no reason.

For now, her relationship with Ji Rui was relatively stable, and she didn’t want money to taint this relationship with worldly dust.

Le Tong hadn’t looked at that asset transfer agreent and will, but from Ji Rui’s extensive explanations, she could roughly guess the contents.

"Ji Rui, I agree with your will-making. But as for transferring part of your assets to , I won’t accept it under any circumstances. How about this, you and your will to leave everything to Baobao in case of an accident. For , you only need to attach the paternity test results of Baobao and to the will. If anything happens to you, I’ll agree to act as guardian, fully take care of Baobao, and manage all properties and assets on his behalf. Would that be acceptable?"

After careful consideration, Le Tong felt this was the biggest concession she could accept.

But her concession was nowhere near where Ji Rui intended to be.

Essentially, the transfer docunt and will regarding Le Tong were drafted according to the status of a legal spouse, which was why Lawyer Fan raised such inquiries.

However, Lawyer Fan didn’t know if Le Tong was legally Ji Rui’s wife, which didn’t matter in Ji Rui’s opinion.

What mattered was, even if there was a one-in-ten-million chance, he had to ensure she could live well, even without him by her side, living well with Baobao. Not, like a few years ago, to sell her dignity and bloodline for her mother’s sake.

But these words, he couldn’t say to Le Tong.

He didn’t want to upset Le Tong and certainly didn’t want to reopen the scars that had barely healed on her heart.

With no options left, Ji Rui could only soften his voice, "Le Tong..." he gazed at her, his eyes showing a tinge of grievance.

Le Tong pretended to be indifferent, raising her hand to cover his eyes. The power of his eyes could not be underestimated, and if she looked any longer, she feared she might relent.

"You’re not Baobao; playing pitiful won’t work!"

After speaking, Le Tong pushed him aside and stood up.

"I’ll go see what Aunt Guan is cooking. At Yuan’er’s house, the chef makes everything sour for her."

What Le Tong said piqued Ji Rui’s curiosity.

"Does pregnancy make your taste change so strangely? Did you crave sour foods when you were pregnant with Baobao?"

Le Tong ignored her, walking away. Unable to get an answer, Ji Rui could only call out to her back, "I want noodles. Will you make a bowl?"

Le Tong turned and gave him an angry glare, muttering discontentedly, "Didn’t you say you’d make a late-night snack for us? And now you’re asking ?"

"I hardly ate, ask Aunt Guan if you don’t believe ."

In fact, Aunt Guan’s cooking skills were only average. Since Ji Rui stopped allowing Le Tong to cook, the father and child’s appetite and al volu had declined sharply, and with today’s stressful events, Ji Rui had even less appetite, only eating a few bites before putting down the bowl.

Le Tong gave him another eye roll, neither promising nor refusing to make noodles, then turned and walked into the kitchen.

"Oh, my goodness, little ancestor, just stay outside. I’ll make it and bring it out for you."

In the kitchen, Aunt Guan, flustered by Baobao, was almost ready to pack him up and throw him out.

"Baobao, you’ve been playing with the dog for so long, go take a bath first."

Le Tong patted the little rascal on the butt, speaking very seriously. The previously stubborn little guy imdiately switched personalities, nodding obediently and heading off to bathe, leaving the kitchen finally in peace.

"Sigh, Baobao only listens to you," Aunt Guan said with a bit of helplessness and smiled at Le Tong.

Le Tong opened the cabinet and took out a package of instant noodles.

"He only bullies the kind-hearted and fears the stern." How could Le Tong not know her own son’s nature?

"Actually, he’s more sensible than many rich kids, though a bit cheeky at tis."

Aunt Guan’s words were true. Currently, Baobao was still recovering and was strictly prohibited by Le Tong from many activities. So even when being cheeky, it was within Le Tong’s permissible range, and he dared not step out of line one bit.

In others’ mouths, he was the fearless Little Demon King of the Ji Family. But in reality, until now, he still feared Le Tong would leave him and run away, so Le Tong’s words usually held more sway than anyone’s.

When Baobao erged from bath ti, Le Tong had just finished making the noodles. The three of them gathered around the table to eat, and Baobao excitedly talked about the Samoyeds at Yuan’er’s house.

After chatting for a while, he sadly complained to Le Tong, "Mommy, when can I bring White and Little Bai ho?"

White and Little Bai had been fostered at a pet shop since Baobao fell ill, as many germs could be transmitted through dostic pets. So even now, Le Tong was reluctant to bring them back.

So small matters she could be casual about.

But regarding Baobao’s health, she dared not be careless at all.

"Maybe later," Le Tong brushed him off as usual. Facing her son’s eyes filled with disappointnt, Le Tong felt very heartbroken.

After noodles, Le Tong coaxed Baobao to bed and found Ji Rui leafing through a magazine on the sofa when she ca out.

"Is your work all done?" Le Tong felt puzzled; usually, at this hour, Ji Rui would be busy in his study.

"Even if it’s not, it doesn’t matter. After all, I worked so hard to earn all this money, and you don’t even care."

Ji Rui’s gaze remained on the magazine. His tone was like a wife complaining about a late-returning husband, filled with resentnt and disdain.

Le Tong felt helpless with him and sat down beside him, saying, "Ji Rui, as you said, it’s the money you worked hard to earn; how could I accept sothing without doing anything for it? Once that transfer docunt is signed, what would others think?"

Ji Rui lazily lifted his eyelids to glance at her, "Who dares say you’re getting sothing for nothing? I’d say no one treats Baobao and better than you. That intention can’t be bought with any amount of money. I earned the money, and I’ll spend it as I wish. What others say is nonsense! Besides, can you really reject my sincere feelings this thoroughly? Also, as long as I live well, all that money is mine, so what are you worried about?"
