"Look at how sour you are! Drink this, it’s quite sweet!"

Le Tong thought that Ji Rui, a man with overwhelming presence at work, possesses extraordinary skills. In terms of strategy, capability, and vision, few in the country can match his ruthlessness and strength.

Yet, this man with top-notch qualities returns ho and, over trivial matters, feels dissatisfied but stubbornly refuses to admit it, grumbling sourly instead.

Sotis, this man is quite childish!

Le Tong concluded in her mind but dared not say it out loud.

At most, she could only tease him like now, savoring the sight of the usually commanding President Ji feeling defeated while she secretly enjoyed her mischievous amusent.

Ji Rui glared at Le Tong in frustration, but the woman before him had an innocent look with laughter in her eyes. Gradually, his glare softened, and his fierce resentnt faded away, leaving only helplessness.

Ji Rui’s heart skipped a beat, thinking he might indeed be firmly conquered by this woman!

"Drink it, hm?!"

Le Tong smiled and winked at him, pressing the rim of the cup against his lips again. The glass that was initially icy cold had turned warm due to the steaming red date tea. Yet, Ji Rui chose to believe the warmth ca from Le Tong’s touch.

This illusion could be because Le Tong’s smile was too radiant.

Or perhaps, Ji Rui had developed a bias over ti, attributing all beneficial changes in his current life to the woman before him.

Just like he previously had the biased perception that all unfortunate things were associated with her, this bias was equally strong and persistent.

Because of her, Baobao grew happier and cuter.

Because of her, he rekindled hope and longing for family life.

Because of her, his emotions beca vivid and intense, no longer the workaholic who was indifferent to everything.

As he pondered, the sour feeling that filled his heart gradually dissipated with the warmth.

Obediently, he opened his mouth and drank a large gulp of red date tea, following her gesture.

Ji Rui slightly frowned, "So sweet!"

"Feeling better?" Le Tong amusingly glanced sideways at him.

Ji Rui pulled her close and softly kissed her lips.

Whether it’s the taste on her lips or the tea he just drank, at this mont, all Ji Rui could feel was the cloyingly sweet red date and longan tea flavor filling his mouth and mind.

Le Tong leaned softly against Ji Rui’s shoulder. It was just a deep kiss, but it seed to drain all her energy, leaving her slightly panting as she raised her face to ask the man who looked utterly satisfied.

"Feeling better now?"

"Mm!" Ji Rui smiled and pecked at her lips again.

"I’m fine!" The tone finally shifted from sour to a reassuring steadiness.

Previously, Ji Rui was trapped in his self-imposed circle, feeling deeply troubled, but with Le Tong’s teasing comfort, his mood gradually brightened considerably.

After so contemplation, he realized she stayed up late reading, perhaps not for the book, but rather out of concern, using the book as a pretense to wait for him.

With this realization, his previously shattered self-confidence soared. Not to ntion he’s secured the second position in Le Tong’s heart; he even felt he might quickly close in on Baobao, striving to share the number one spot with Baobao.

Ji Rui felt smug, though outwardly it was impossible to tell, and his speaking tone unconsciously beca much gentler.

"Were you waiting for to co back?" While asking, he gently brushed his lips against hers.

Le Tong neither confird nor denied, simply lifting her hand to touch his chin.

Ji Rui had dense hair, having shaved in the morning, now a hint of stubble was pricking Le Tong’s hand, causing a slight tingling pain.

"Baobao is steadily gaining weight, but you’ve lost so. Did your at transfer to Baobao?"

Le Tong spoke with concern, her gaze filled with tender affection, tracing circles on his face with her fingertips.

Ji Rui took hold of her hand, kissed it by his lips, feeling entirely certain that this woman stayed up late reading in the living room genuinely to wait for him.

"Sorry, I’ll be more attentive."

He felt joyful that she cared for him, but allowing her concern and worry was undeniably his fault.

"Are you hungry? Want to eat sothing?"

Le Tong didn’t intend to bla him. Recently, the Ji Family had trouble one after another, and he, as the head, if not leading the charge to carve a path, would let the Ji Family fall prey to schers with no chance of rising again.

Ji Rui glanced at the ti, close to midnight. Truthfully, he craved her lovingly made late-night snack, but considering her health, it was better to rest early.

"Not hungry, you should go to sleep!"

He said, supporting her waist and urging her to stand.

Le Tong did not rush to get up, gazing at him for several seconds without blinking before slowly standing, bending down to kiss his lips.

"Then I’ll go to bed; you should shower soon, don’t stay up too late!"

Ji Rui held her waist with one hand, clasped her neck with the other, turning her voluntary peck into a deep kiss.

If possible, he’d love to scoop her up imdiately and carry her to the bedroom. As for those Ji Family or Ji Wen matters, let them go to hell!

The inner demons roared loudly, but he eventually released Le Tong.

He didn’t want a repeat of the situation in the lounge.

Le Tong walked lightly to the bedroom door, suddenly turned to say to Ji Rui.

"I’ve prepared so sandwiches in the fridge. If you want to eat, take one out and heat it up in the microwave."

Ji Rui felt imnsely pleased, though his face remained impassive, nodding slightly and waving at Le Tong "Mm, go to sleep now."

As soon as Le Tong’s bedroom door closed, Ji Rui swiftly dashed into his own bathroom, showered in a robe, then headed into the kitchen, found the sandwiches in the fridge, heated in the microwave, and sat contentedly with flower tea and sandwich.

He was absolutely delighted!

Thinking to himself, this ans I’ve climbed to the number one spot, hasn’t it!
