"Senior, I brought all the food you love, see if it’s enough?!"

When Le Tong returned with a platter even more magnificent than her own, the two n were looking at each other, seemingly in a standoff.

Seeing that neither of them paid her any attention, Le Tong waved her hand in front of Yang Sheng.

"Hey, don’t tell you two are playing the red-green light ga!"

Yang Sheng burst into laughter, "Tsk, Tongtong, that’s the ga Baby Ji plays, not President Ji."

Le Tong pushed the large plate of food in front of Yang Sheng, "Senior, eat up."

Only then did Yang Sheng lower his head to look, and once he did, he was startled.

"Tongtong, are you feeding a pig?"

Le Tong laughed, speared a cheese-baked shrimp and popped it into her mouth, chewing as she spoke, "Otherwise? What do you think you are?"

Ji Rui, sitting opposite them, sipped tea and watched. In just a few minutes, Le Tong seed like a different person.

When Yang Sheng wasn’t there, she sat opposite him like a lifeless statue, eating quietly and looking sullen.

Once Yang Sheng returned, her eyes sparkled, her words increased, and even her smile was as bright as wildflowers in full bloom.

Thinking of what Yang Sheng said earlier, Ji Rui couldn’t help but wonder, could there really be sothing between these two?

Even after the al was over, Ji Rui’s mind was still wrapped around this question.

Could there really be sothing between these two?

In the afternoon, when Le Tong delivered so docunts, she asked about the evening arrangents. "President, where did Director Chen’s dinner at seven get booked?"

"You decide."

Ji Rui, whether out of laziness or lack of ti to consider, typed away at the screen.

"Okay, then Longxiang it is?" Le Tong made the decision based on Ji Rui’s habit.

"Yeah, you’re coming too!"

Le Tong gave a bitter smile and acknowledged, turning to leave.

Director Chen was well-known for his drinking ability, and having Le Tong accompany naturally ant she was there to shield the drinks.

Back at her desk, Le Tong took out her bag and pulled out a small box filled with dicines. She searched inside but couldn’t find any hangover pills, and the type of painkillers Ji Rui often took were down to only one or two tablets. She figured she’d have to find ti to sneak out to buy more ds to replenish the stock.

The ti on the wall clock pointed to five-thirty. Le Tong picked up her phone.

"President, I have sothing to do. I’ll head to Longxiang by myself later."

But the person on the other end of the line seed not to hear her, "Co in and help translate so docunts."

Le Tong discreetly showed a middle finger, but then obediently walked into the president’s office as usual.

At six-thirty, President Ji finally closed the file, stood up, and swiftly put on his coat.

"Let’s go."

Watching the man transform, instantly donning his black leather jacket over the white shirt, Le Tong zoned out staring at the man’s broad shoulders.

"Hey!"

Ji Rui was slightly displeased as his little secretary frequently spaced out ever since Yang Sheng returned.

Le Tong was jolted back by Ji Rui’s soft shout, got up, and jogged out to grab her bag, following Ji Rui into the elevator.

"President, could we stop at the pharmacy up ahead? I want to buy so dicine."

As the car drove halfway, Le Tong pointed to the pharmacy a few hundred ters ahead, requesting.

"Stomach pain?"

Le Tong’s stomach issues seed etched into Ji Rui’s brain so much that any slight discomfort on her part made him think of that.

"No, the president’s painkillers are out, so I’ll buy two boxes."

Le Tong didn’t ntion the hangover pills; after all, President Ji had her dodge drinks, and it’s undeniable. After all, being the president entails such privileges, naturally more prestigious than a poor person like her.

"Alright." Ji Rui responded, instructing the driver to stop ahead.

The car soon pulled over, Le Tong opened the door, and just as she was about to shut it, Ji Rui suddenly spoke, "Buy two boxes of stomach dicine too."

Le Tong didn’t quite grasp at first, "President, is your stomach unwell?"

Ji Rui glanced at her indifferently, turned away without responding.

Le Tong closed the car door and slowly realized, could it be that President Ji is caring for her? That the stomach dicine is actually for her just in case?

Le Tong quickly returned with the dicine, in addition to painkillers and hangover pills, she bought two boxes of stomach dicine.

Director Chen was a middle-aged man in his forties, incredibly capable of drinking. He wouldn’t sip the alcohol slowly; he’d tilt his head, flip his hand, and down the glass completely with the kind of heroic drinking style.

The real trouble is that he himself drinks this way, and anyone with him must accompany him in downing the glass.

Le Tong could hold her liquor well, but the last ti dining with Director Chen, she ended up hugging the toilet for over half an hour at ho, nearly vomiting her stomach out.

So, upon hearing it was Director Chen’s dinner, Le Tong readied herself for getting drunk. Shortly after sitting down, she pre-edited a ssage, "Senior, I’m at Longxiang, drunk, co pick up!" It was stored in her drafts, ready to be sent to Yang Sheng as she was about to get drunk, so he could take her ho.

In the past, she wouldn’t need to do this, even if drunk, President Ji would arrange for soone to settle her in a hotel comfortably. But ever since the anniversary banquet where she got drunk and was exploited by him, Le Tong was always cautious around Ji Rui.

Before the food arrived, as usual, the manager brewed a fine tea and served it, Ji Rui and Director Chen sipped and discussed business.

"Mr. Ji, the land deal is pretty much settled. As for the price..."

Director Chen left his sentence hanging, raising his cup and downing the small tea cup in one go.

"Pricewise, sa old deal?"

Ji Rui also raised his cup, but only took a delicate sip, his long fingers lightly grasping the white jade cup. The translucent edge touched his lips as the green tea seeped into his mouth, making Le Tong swallow hard.

She was puzzled by herself.

Ever since discovering another side of Ji Rui during that drunken night, she’d often swoon over him. Even with the sa features, what once seed sternly cold now looked bold and powerful; even with the sa face, what once appeared rigid now felt chiseled and distinct...

Why does such a detestable person have a face so irresistibly appealing to her?

The dishes arrived quickly, and Director Chen was just like always. When the food was served, he had the waiter fill several large cups of alcohol.

He raised his glass and gestured toward Le Tong.

"Miss Le, let’s first have a drink!"

He rembered clearly, last ti he toasted Ji Rui, almost all went into Le Tong’s stomach, so this ti, he astutely passed his glass to Le Tong.

"Director Chen, she has a stomachache, I’ll take it!"
