Nuonuo knocked on President Chen’s door, full of confusion, but there was no response. Just as Nuonuo was about to knock again, the door opened from inside.
"Si Han! Long ti no see!"
Si Han stared at the tall, slim man in front of her, stunned for a mont before reacting, "Si Jun?"
The man smiled at her, reached out to lightly guide her by the shoulder, and led her into President Chen’s office.
"Weren’t you abroad?" Si Han tilted her head to take a closer look at this much-matured man, who still carried a familiar aura.
The man still smiled broadly, "Yeah, just got back a few days ago!"
Led by him, Si Han sat on the sofa and fully ca to her senses.
"Wait, how co you’re here?"
Si Han glanced around. Judging by the interior, this indeed was President Chen’s office. Yet at this ti, the office only contained her and Si Jun.
"Don’t worry; I’ll explain everything to you soon."
Si Jun patted the back of her hand before getting up to pour a glass of water, bringing it back to Si Han with the kind of familiarity that made it seem like this was his turf.
"Where is President Chen?"
Nuonuo was not eager to ask about Si Jun, as she had co here to find Brother Ning and Brother Hao, and matters concerning Si Jun were more personal. Those should be set aside for later.
"President Chen went out on business. You’re waiting for Brother Ning and Brother Hao, right? They just went to the recording studio. Sit and wait a bit, they’ll be back soon."
Nuonuo listened increasingly skeptically, holding her tea and staring at Si Jun.
"Si Jun, how are you so familiar with our company’s staff?"
Si Jun stood up, adjusted his clothes, then put away his smile before extending his hand solemnly.
"Hello Miss Si Han! I’m Si Jun, the new assistant to the boss. Please guide well in the future!"
Si Han stared at him blankly before dumbly extending her hand to shake his.
"Didn’t you say you just got back a few days ago? How did you beco our boss’s assistant so quickly?"
Having introduced himself with a serious deanor, Si Jun sat down again, picked up his tea, and took a sip before speaking.
"I completed my credits ahead of schedule and graduated early, returned to the country for a week. But I’ve been busy arranging accommodation and job interviews this week, so I didn’t have ti to contact you."
Nuonuo acknowledged this with understanding, nodding for him to continue.
"Before I ca back, I saw Xinying Entertainnt’s job advertisent on a job resource website, so I submitted my resu a month ago. I received an interview notice before returning to the country, went through a normal interview channel, and was hired. I officially started work two days ago."
After hearing his explanation, Si Han stood up and bowed slightly in respect, "Assistant Si, I’m the company’s artist, Si Han. Please take care of in the future."
Si Jun raised a hand and patted her head, "Alright, stop teasing ."
Si Jun, despite studying abroad for several years, still kept in touch with Si Han, maintaining their relationship as good friends.
With Brother Ning and Jiahao not back yet, Si Han chatted with Si Jun. As they talked, Si Han suddenly recalled a question, "Si Jun, you ntioned that you’re the boss’s assistant, not the general manager’s assistant?"
Si Han remained fixated on the matter of who the company’s boss was.
"Yes, I’m the boss’s assistant, not the general manager’s assistant!" Si Jun clarified distinctly.
Si Han leaned in a little closer, curiously asking, "So, have you t our boss?"
Si Jun was montarily stunned before shaking his head, "Haven’t t yet, but HR clearly stated that I’m the boss’s assistant, not the general manager’s assistant."
Si Han lifted her gaze and looked around the room, "Then why are you in President Chen’s office?"
"Oh, that’s because I haven’t t the boss yet, so the HR director arranged for to follow President Chen temporarily to get familiar with the work processes until the boss returns, then I’ll assist the boss."
Si Jun’s guess was quite reasonable, but Si Han comnted, "Could it be that President Chen is the boss?"
However, President Chen is in his forties, though not a chubby uncle, he’s definitely not a handso guy. This contradicts Sister Fang’s depiction of the boss as stunningly attractive.
Despite claiming he hasn’t t the boss, Si Jun confidently shook his head, "Definitely not! President Chen was hired by the boss through a headhunting company, he’s not the boss."
Nuonuo eyed him suspiciously, "Strange... you’ve been here only three days and seem to know more than , the first person signed!"
Si Jun smiled a bit helplessly, "Si Han, you’re the company’s rush-signed star. You usually don’t need to concern yourself with company affairs, just focus on acting well to maintain your position as Xinying’s top star. But for , I had to understand Xinying’s structure and mbers when I applied for the job."
Si Jun’s analysis was quite reasonable, leaving Nuonuo speechless. Though there seed to be sothing off, she couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
Before she could say anything else, the office door opened, and Ning Yi and Jiahao stood outside.
"Si Han, have you been here a while? Co, join us and check out the recording effects at the studio."
The two stood at the door, directly inviting Si Han to leave. Si Han glanced at Si Jun, who gently patted her shoulder, "Go ahead, I have so errands to run, we’ll catch up via phone later."
Si Han had no choice but to get up, wave him goodbye, then followed Ning Yi and Jiahao toward the recording studio.
"Si Han, I heard from Ah Jun that you two are old friends?"
"Yeah, I’ve known him since middle school, it’s been many years!"
With Ning Yi’s reminder, Si Han realized she really has known Si Jun for quite a long ti.
"That kid is not bad, he’s diligent and smart. No wonder he was chosen among so many interviewees."
Jiahao’s words indirectly confird Si Jun’s claims.
Si Han left the recording studio, and it was already afternoon. She thought she’d see if Si Jun had returned to say hello before leaving, but the secretary inford her, "Ah Jun went out on business and won’t be back today."
Si Han gave up the idea of catching up, chatted a bit about their first album with Tong Ke and Gao Xing, then took her own car ho.
Over dinner, Si Han ntioned running into Si Jun at Xinying during the day.
Le Tong was quite surprised, "What? Si Jun is an assistant at Xinying? That kid is really great. Your boss truly has a discerning eye. I even ntioned to your dad about getting him to work at the Ji Family after graduating."
Le Tong lanted, then turned to ask Da Bao, "Did you know he had returned?"
Le Tong knew Da Bao also had contact with Si Jun privately.
"Yes, he called before coming back and ntioned eting after his return. But ever since he ca back, he seems busy with work, so I haven’t seen him yet."
Nuonuo found it odd that her brother and Si Jun had grown so close, and most importantly, why hadn’t she known about it?
