"You’re investigating ?"

Zhu Qianyu was visibly displeased, tilting her head slightly to size up the man dressed in casual wear across from her, whose noble air was hard to conceal.

After all, she was just an eighteen-year-old girl. No matter how composed she pretended to be, she often couldn’t stay calm when truly confronted with sothing.

The young master shook his head, "I didn’t!"

He just inquired a bit about her basic information, stuff anyone could find out, and he didn’t consider that an investigation.

However, his trustworthiness in Zhu Qianyu’s eyes was already negative. To her, he was nothing more than a frivolous playboy with no credibility. Therefore, his denial was expected.

But even though it was expected, her face involuntarily grew colder, "Don’t tell it was a coincidence!"

In truth, she didn’t need to ask; she knew he must have investigated her. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be such a coincidence to et her in the library the day before yesterday and yesterday, and even less likely to bring dicinal wine.

The young master took in all her reactions, knowing that he was dealing with soone not easily fooled. In fact, from the start, he had no intention of deceiving her in the slightest. It could even be said she was one of the few people outside his family in his twenty-one years of life that he genuinely wanted to treat sincerely.

Facing her eyes filled with coldness, he raised his hands in a gesture of surrender.

"I admit, I looked at your basic information and inquired about so of your daily habits. I know you’re Zhu Qianyu, a student at R University’s Directing Departnt, XX batch, just turned eighteen in May, very studious with excellent grades, and like to spend ti in the library or read here when you have no classes. That’s all I’ve inquired about; I don’t know anything about your other privacy, nor do I have any intention to investigate it."

His honesty only made Zhu Qianyu glare with anger, her big, round beautiful apricot eyes filled with fury.

"Ji Huan! Don’t you think you’re just playing with words and making clever excuses?"

He admitted to inquiring about her basic information and daily habits but wouldn’t admit it’s an investigation. What else could it be but sophistry?

The young master’s expression remained unchanged; he shook his head once more and answered confidently.

"I don’t think so. These basic details could be found by asking anyone; they’re all superficial things, hardly an investigation. I believe secretly probing into soone else’s undesired-to-be-revealed privacy is what constitutes an investigation."

Zhu Qianyu was speechless with anger; what on earth was this man’s brain made of?

It’s clearly an investigation, yet he insisted it was just seeking information. Though the Chinese language is extensive and profound, its essence should never be used as a tool for such a hypocrite to escape accountability.

"Haha, it sounds like you don’t want to know my privacy. I think you just don’t have the ability. Isn’t that right?"

Zhu Qianyu considered herself to co from a decent background. For an ordinary rich kid, investigating her wasn’t an easy task. Although she always looked down upon being called the sixth lady of the Zhu Family, she had to admit that this title brought her many conveniences and privileges.

She never expected that the wealthy young man sitting across from her had an even more significant background than the Zhu Family.

"No, I do have the ability!" the young master said with absolute certainty.

He said this not to showcase how powerful his thods and background were, but simply to truthfully state that if he wanted to know, beyond her privacy, he could even dig into information related to her ancestors she wasn’t aware of.

Zhu Qianyu had never t soone who could do wrong while still boasting shalessly. Yet, it was understandable. This person was obviously an expert at talking nonsense with a serious face, the kind of hypocrite who could brazenly misrepresent sons and daughters as nieces and nephews.

She always avoided such people like the plague.

"Fine! I believe you have such capabilities, and thank you for not digging into my ancestors eighteen generations back. Is that okay? Now, could you please swiftly get out of my sight?"

Zhu Qianyu considered herself rather even-tempered, but at this mont, she had to hold back her anger, keeping her from picking up the cup of coffee next to her and splashing it across this overly handso face opposite her!

The young master could easily see her clenching fists trying to restrain her anger.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t an to offend you; I just want to be friends with you!" Even though her gaze was filled with murderous anger, and his heart was sowhat hurt, he still sincerely said.

Zhu Qianyu took a deep breath, desperately trying to calm herself down.

After a long while, finally more composed, she calmly said, "I’m sorry, I’m not interested in making friends with soone like you."

She said it lightly, then lowered her head back to her books and notes, completely treating him sitting across from her as non-existent.

The young master had always lived a life like the moon embraced by a multitude of stars. No matter where he went, even without ntioning he was from the Ji Family, just his outstanding appearance and intellect attracted heaps of praise and flattery.

To be so blatantly dismissed and spoken coldly to — if she wasn’t the first, she was certainly among a rare few.

Thinking back, in front of Zhu Qianyu, he seed never to have received any favor.

He was even inexplicably t with her hostility and rejection all along.

He wasn’t a saint; to be treated so "generously" when he ant well was upsetting, he couldn’t deny that.

He tried to recall their acquaintance process, seemingly having never offended her.

Admittedly, his actions these past few days bore obvious signs of attentiveness, yet he had given her ample respect and space, without an iota of aggressiveness or dominance.

Since there seed nothing improper with his approach, where did her overt prejudice and disdain stem from?

Could it be that they had so interaction in the past, leading to so misunderstanding?

Yet, no matter how he racked his brain, he couldn’t rember any prior interaction before their chance eting in the small park.

"I’m sorry for making you uncomfortable." He softly said, then stood up and moved to the table next to her.

Perhaps due to his family upbringing or the good family atmosphere he was raised in, he always had great respect for won. Even though he often called his sister a fool, he never underestimated her. He always placed won in an equal position.

Thus, at this mont, his heart held none of the arrogance that ca from being the young master of the Ji Family. Watching her so angry, he understood that further explanation would only bring her more dissatisfaction.

Having sorted out the pros and cons, like the past two days, he sat quietly at the adjacent table, drinking his coffee, minding his own business.

He wouldn’t push her, but he definitely wasn’t the type to easily give up.
