Alka had no intention of answering him and walked around the Mirror Maze, Bat in hand.

Countless Mirrors reflected Alka’s figure, but it was impossible to discern his exact position.

The Mirrors deceived his vision.

A Silver Card, flying from an unknown direction, sliced an arc behind Jack.

Jack keenly sensed the attack from behind and imdiately sidestepped to dodge.

But this place clearly affected his perception, and the attack from behind had been rather sudden.

Although he dodged, he was a step too slow. A deep wound still gashed his shoulder, and blood imdiately gushed out.

Blood flowed, staining his captain’s coat red. Looking at the wound on his shoulder, Jack’s expression turned sowhat gloomy, and he tapped the ground with his cane.

Invisible ripples spread out around him, starting to search for Alka’s exact location, attempting to use this thod to break Alka’s Mirror Maze.

However, another ring of silver ripples spread out, colliding with the invisible ripples and blocking his probe.

"Trying to cheat with a Spell that can detect ?" Alka’s sarcastic voice, tinged with mockery, ca from all directions. "It seems your identity as a Magician is sowhat lacking. I thought a great Magician like you would use a legitimate thod to break this Mirror Maze and truly convince ."

He had long considered that the easiest way to break the Mirror Maze was to determine the attacker’s location through large-scale detection.

When he previously fought Chadite, the Mirror Maze was basically ineffective against her.

For now, Alka couldn’t enchant these Mirrors with a Spell that could block detection.

So, as a compromise, he used card-making thods to temporarily manifest Chadite’s ripples into a card.

Chadite’s ripples had many functions, including the ability to block enemy detection.

In response to Alka’s taunts, Jason conjured another flurry of cards, flinging them outward.

The cards shot out from various angles and then exploded, transforming into four thick gouts of fla that sprayed around.

The power and heat of the flas instantly cleared a large, Mirror-less area.

Just as Jack was about to smile, Mirrors reappeared one after another, erging with incredible speed.

They refilled the spaces of the recently destroyed Mirrors, instantly restoring the damage that had just been dealt.

"What are you thinking?" Alka’s voice echoed. "Did you imagine I wouldn’t anticipate such an easy-to-break thod?"

Although Alka was taunting him, he had no intention of approaching.

Although the hardness of these Mirrors had long been enhanced and they possessed rapid regenerative abilities, with Jack’s strength, he could destroy them with brute force anyway.

He already sensed Jack was holding back, concealing his true power, seemingly trying to provoke Alka into attacking.

Pretending to be weak to deceive the enemy?

Alka intentionally hid his own strength. Most of the attacks he launched only reached the limits of Two Spirals, not yet reaching the level of Three Spirals.

But Jack, that fellow, acting as if Alka had fooled him, played his part quite well.

He couldn’t possibly fail to perceive my strength—I’m only at Two Spirals. He could deduce this from the ti I beca a Touched, or from other indicators.

Conversely, if Alka’s own strength had reached Three Spirals and he possessed a Treasure, that would indeed be sothing beyond ordinary imagination.

So why is he performing like this?

Alka was sowhat baffled.

Outside, a Knight from the Church wielding a Treasure was waiting—and it was the kind of Treasure exceptionally effective in direct combat.

Jack’s Treasure was inherently not suited for direct combat. He should have aid for a quick victory and captured Alka. Then, he should have left imdiately, instead of dawdling here, going through these motions with Alka.

So for what purpose is he acting like this?

The first possibility was that the flow of ti here was different, so he simply didn’t care about the situation outside. This scenario had so probability, but it wasn’t high.

This was simply not an ability that a Three Spirals could wield, unless they had a Treasure.

But if that old man possessed a Treasure, he wouldn’t be subordinate to Jack, nor controlled by Jack’s Treasure.

If Alka wasn’t mistaken, that old man was likely the deputy captain, the Touched whose strength had been enhanced the most.

The second possibility was that Jack had so other objective. He wasn’t trying to instantly capture or eliminate Alka, but rather to make Alka do sothing; he was Guiding him.

Upon this thought, Alka squinted slightly.

Once again, he flung out several cards, shooting from different directions.

A blue card suddenly shot from a strange corner and then exploded. Jack desperately rolled aside.

However, he was still ensnared, one hand and one foot bound by two blue Water Chains. Seizing this opportunity, a Silver Card shot out, slicing through a peculiar angle.

It aid at Jack’s other arm. If struck by this Silver Card, his arm might very well be severed at the base.

But Jack was no pushover. He dodged with all his might, and the Water Chains began to break apart.

In an instant, the card tore a large gash. Blood gushed out, but the wound wasn’t fatal and hardly affected his combat ability.
