Has the compatibility really dropped to this level?
Chadite looked at the blue Gemstone on the silver base in his hand. Holding it, he felt no chill at all.
It was hard to imagine that this very item caused the entire Extre Cold Triangle Zone to be winter all year round.
"I really want to know what abilities this Treasure has," Chadite mused.
Hearing Chadite’s words, the people around couldn’t help but nod in agreent.
This was a Treasure, after all; who wouldn’t want to know if it possessed powerful abilities?
Upon hearing this, Alka said directly, "You can try infusing Magic Power into it to activate it."
At his words, everyone looked at him.
After all, Alka was the only one here with experience in handling Treasures.
Chadite was a bit excited but still cautiously asked, "Will there be any problem activating it this way?"
"What problem could there be? Activating it doesn’t an it will definitely be yours, nor will it bind to you. It’s just to see what it does. However, you might not be able to."
Chadite had been quite happy hearing Alka’s earlier words, but after Alka’s last sentence, his expression turned to disappointnt. He asked in confusion, "Why can’t I do it?"
"Because when you previously beca a Toucher, you comprehended an exclusive Spell. If the Treasure that previously made you a Toucher conflicts with this one in your hand, it won’t allow you to activate it. It might even injure you due to poor compatibility."
Alka had obtained this information during a previous conversation with the Archbishop.
There’s compatibility between Treasures, and similarly, between Treasures and people.
According to the Archbishop, Treasures of equal power will repel or even clash if they are incompatible, unless their Levels differ.
Compatibility with people, however, is less of a concern because humans are generally the weaker party.
Furthermore, because the Circuits within the human body are highly malleable, they can easily be altered by the Treasures one masters.
This leads to improved compatibility, so it’s generally not a cause for worry.
Of course, those who comprehended a Spell upon first contact with a Treasure are an exception. The Treasure would reject such individuals from the outset, let alone reshape the Circuits in their body.
After Alka shared what he knew with everyone, Chadite propped his chin on his hand with a sigh, sitting to the side and watching the others.
Looking at the eager group, Alka said, "Even if you only activate the Energy within a Treasure, it will alter the attribute of your Magic Power. And the longer you are in contact with the Treasure, the more profound the change will be."
This was the case with Alka’s own Magic Power; he had already noticed a shift in its attributes.
He had been mastering the Dream Catcher for nearly six months, and it was a Treasure with no strong elental affinity.
Yet, even so, it had gradually changed his Magic Power over ti.
For instance, Alka’s Magic Power had recently seed to be shifting towards a pink hue, appearing more like mist than pure Energy when it surged forth.
His Magic Power now also carried a hint of the Dream Realm Elent, making it easier to affect others ntally.
However, this didn’t enhance the effect of his Magic Power on other Spells, nor did it negatively impact them.
Because the Dream Catcher itself lacked a strong elental inclination, it had only slightly altered the appearance of Alka’s Magic Power.
It was akin to adding so visual flair and a minor secondary effect.
"The attributes of this Treasure are very obvious," Alka continued. "It’s a Frost Attribute with extrely distinct characteristics. So, whoever activates it needs to think carefully."
Treasures with such distinct Elental Attributes and clear traits will naturally have a more pronounced impact on Spells.
This has both pros and cons.
For example, when using Spells of a similar attribute, proficiency, control, and power will all increase.
However, if one switches from using Ice-based Spells to Fire Spells, there will be a noticeable decrease in effectiveness. This is unavoidable.
Hearing this, Pororo and Jason both thought for a mont, then helplessly shook their heads. Jason then passed the Treasure to Julia beside him.
Pororo’s attribute was pure water, a result of his faith and the Treasure he had bonded with, and he was very satisfied with it. Thus, he wasn’t keen on altering it.
Jason’s Magic Power had always contained a trace of Holy Light because he had bonded with a Church Treasure possessing the Holy Light Attribute. He also liked this very much. Furthermore, as he had once been affiliated with the Church, most of his Spells were related to it. If his attribute were changed, the power of his Spells would diminish.
Since this Treasure couldn’t be kept by them permanently and had to be returned to the Church, they both ultimately decided against activating it themselves.
Julia looked at the blue Gemstone in her hand and, without hesitation, channeled her Magic Power into it, attempting to activate it.
She wasn’t concerned. Her primary abilities stemd from a Spell that allowed her to summon bandages. This Spell was highly adaptable and not ’picky’ about elental attributes. It wouldn’t change its fundantal nature or acquire specific attributes due to alterations in her Magic Power. Besides, her weapon had already transford into an Ice Blade.
As her Magic Power surged in, the Gemstone began to emit a brilliant blue light.
The surrounding temperature plumted instantly.
Having just removed their cold-weather gear, everyone imdiately shivered, a wave of regret washing over them for not waiting a bit longer before taking off their clothes.
Frost began to spread from beneath Julia’s feet. However, it didn’t creep across the deck but instead climbed upwards, completely encasing her.
