While the Dream Death God slept, Alka took his chance. A small marble of pink mist ford in Alka’s hand, and he gently tossed it over. The marble softened in mid-flight before sticking to the Dream Death God.
The ball of black and white mist seed to sense the disturbance and shifted back into the Death God’s form. He swung his scythe left and right, apparently searching for the source of the movent. anwhile, Alka remained hidden behind a large bank of fog. Using the Dream Catcher, he could rge with the mist to conceal himself. In the Real World, this would be like Alka blending into stone and earth.
After a while, having apparently found nothing, the Death God-like dream creature departed. It moved farther away and hid behind another cloud formation to rest.
Alka closed his eyes. He could clearly sense the creature’s position.
Nodding with satisfaction, he began to return to his own Dream Realm. He wasn’t planning to eliminate the Dream Death God so easily, as it seed quite interesting. He intended to observe it thoroughly. Once he could perfectly mimic it, he planned to subdue it.
Alka stood atop his Dream World. The Mirror mask surfaced and covered his face. Its reflective surface displayed a dream creature clad in light-and-shadow robes, wielding a black scythe.
Alka planned to try simulating it first, to see if, like the previous eye monster, it possessed any overly anti-human senses.
This ti, two mirror-like fragnts broke away, appearing at Alka’s waist and abdon. An opening then ford in that area, within which a ball of interwoven black and white mist appeared, shot through with intertwined light and shadow. This intertwined light and shadow quickly surged out, enveloping Alka completely. The light-and-shadow robe materialized on Alka’s body, his Mirror-masked face hidden beneath its hood. A black scythe materialized, floating silently beside Alka.
What a find! Simply put, Alka had discovered and observed the Dream Death God’s true core. This core was occasionally revealed when its body transford into a sphere during rest, normally hidden deep within the ball of mist. Its entire body, as well as the scythe in its hand, were constructed from this core. In a human, this core would be located in the waist and abdon area.
Alka only needed to simulate this core for his appearance to almost completely transform into that of the Dream Death God. In truth, apart from the sphere of light and shadow within the opening at his waist and abdon, other parts of his body hadn’t changed. Yet, simulating this single part was almost equivalent to simulating the creature’s entire body.
Interesting.
Alka sat on the lawn of his Dream Realm, starting to analyze. The Mirror Surface can always simulate only a part, but as long as he locates the core part of the creature, he can superimpose its abilities onto himself. This should be the best way of using the Mirror Surface. If he hadn’t just observed that mont when the Dream Death God was resting, he might not have noticed and thus wouldn’t be able to simulate its core. To better use the Mirror Surface, one must patiently observe. The more detailed the understanding and the more one sees, the more comprehensive the simulation will be. However, his current state only simulated the core ability. But he didn’t sense any particularly powerful abilities. He wasn’t sure if this was because he hadn’t observed them yet, or if the Dream Death God simply wasn’t that strong. More abilities require more careful observation.
While he experinted with his abilities, another dream bubble appeared nearby. That must be Jason.
Alka dragged Jason’s bubble closer and then used more pink mist to completely envelop them, forming a tight eggshell.
Once Alka finished with this, he too began to rest well within the Dream Realm.
...
「The next day.」
In the morning, Alka was awakened by lodious singing. He opened his eyes; the puppet that had been on the nearby table was long gone.
After washing up, he opened his door and stood in the hallway, looking out towards the open deck.
"To the left! Wrong! Too much Magic Power leaked out. Start over!"
Chadite was training Lucilia’s control, trying to prevent her from damaging the deck during practice. A wooden stake had been specially set up for Lucilia to stand on while she trained. Despite this, attacks ford from coalescing waves of Magic Power could often be seen flying wildly about. Julia stood nearby, ready to disperse any stray Magic Power to prevent damage to the surrounding ships.
"Did you do sothing to my dream yesterday?"
As Alka watched the scene below, Jason erged from the adjacent room, rubbing his eyes, and asked.
"What happened? Did you feel anything?"
Hearing Alka’s question, Jason nodded and said, "I kept feeling like soone was dragging around, and the whole world was moving."
"Looks like you didn’t rest well yesterday. Indeed, after leaving the Holand Sea, even dreams have beco unsafe. So, I gathered all your dreams together for protection."
