"Can you control these too?" Alka asked, looking at Simon.

Apart from the area at the entrance where the flying constructs were stored, many other sections contained unknown tal objects. It seed they were also constructs.

Simon went to where the aircraft were stored and picked up each remaining one to inspect it. He shook his head regretfully. "No, these were damaged long ago by the passage of ti."

In other words, only the functional ones had flown out earlier.

Then Simon looked towards the inactive constructs ahead. The others followed him.

"This large pile here must have been weapons, not constructs. But it’s a sha none of them are usable now," Simon said, picking up a spear-like weapon.

Jason picked one up and examined it. "This one looks fine, doesn’t it?"

Alka shook his head. "The exterior is fine. After all, the casing of these things is incredibly hard. The problem is the interior." Saying this, Alka picked up a spear and shook it. As he did, the rattling of loose parts could be heard from within. It was completely wrecked inside.

"Can these materials still be used?" Chadite asked, looking at the nurous damaged weapons.

"These materials aren’t valuable. Instead of lting them down and removing impurities, it would be better to spend so money on new raw materials," Alka said, looking at the spear in his hand. He had already discerned so of the tals used in it through the Spell’s effects.

Simon also sighed. "If we hadn’t co to the Endless Sea, these materials would have been decent. But now, they’re really not worth much." They hadn’t been entirely unrewarded in the small town; while strolling around, they had noticed many tallic products made from similar materials. These tals were part of the trade goods brought by caravans, inexpensive and even quite affordable. This was not to ntion the materials they had collected while exploring the island, which were far superior to those used in these standard-issue weapons. Those were all Spell Materials harvested from creatures. So, it wasn’t worth wasting effort on these scraps. Besides, their rings weren’t large and couldn’t hold much.

"These two are usable." From the pile of spears, Simon finally selected two that were relatively well-preserved. He handed one to Alka.

Alka examined it carefully, his Magic Power probing inside, and easily deciphered its structure. "This design is good—simple and practical." Admiring it, he swung the spear twice, effortlessly slicing through the discarded spears below.

Its internal design enhanced the spear’s sharpness. The main reason for its low cost was its lack of Spell Materials. Moreover, it could be thrown. Its internal chanism increased its penetration when launched, enhancing both its flight speed and range. It seed more like a throwable ranged weapon than one for close combat.

"The Race that inhabited this ancient city-state seems to have been larger than modern humans," Simon said, looking at the spear in his hand. What they were holding weren’t spears at all, but javelins.

It seems he’s reached the sa conclusion, Alka thought.

Further inside were completely incomprehensible constructs, along with so firearms resembling Vibrating Stone Guns. These items had long since turned to scrap with the passage of ti, offering hardly any significant gain. If not for the robust materials and so Spells etched into them, these weapons wouldn’t have lasted this long.

The more Simon explored, the deeper the regret on his face beca. So many items had been abandoned, a fact he found hard to accept. The main issue was that the ruins had existed for an exceedingly long ti. These constructs and weapons were rather intricate, and disuse over an extended period would naturally lead to such problems.

The reason those flying construct Sentinels could still move was that they were used for reconnaissance and alert purposes. The entire armory had dedicated Energy circuits and auto-repair programs for them. Even so, not many of those flying machines were intact; most were dilapidated, and a small portion couldn’t move at all.

They reached the very center of the space. A tal-cased object stood there.

"What’s in here?" Jason walked over to take a look. "Can it be opened?" he asked Alka.

Alka nodded. This is most likely the target of our journey, he thought.

As the tal casing was removed, the object within was revealed. True enough, it had a blue border on the outside.

The entire object strongly resembled a Cannon. Its muzzle was about the size of a human head, and its cylindrical barrel was two ters long. Including the base supporting the Cannon, its total length was about three ters.

Beneath the Cannon was a circular, fixed base. Combined with its mounting, it seed capable of 180-degree Rotation and could also be raised and slightly lowered, allowing for a wide variety of attack angles.

Simon approached it step by step, gently placing his hands on the Cannon’s barrel. His eyes held a look of obsessive tenderness, as if he were caressing his beloved.

"Gods, look at this material! Look at the patterns engraved on it!" As he spoke, he channeled his Magic Power through his hands to probe its internal structure.
