Alka’s entire body imdiately underwent a transformation; a robe of light and shadow enveloped him, and a black Scythe materialized in his hand. He could actually transform into a creature with very high poison resistance, turning a portion of his ’numbers’ into his own legs. But the problem was that this was an ordinary creature and couldn’t provide Alka with any enhancent. In fact, the uncoordinated limb transformation might even decrease Alka’s power.
A pink mist began to spread overwhelmingly throughout the entire forest, fueled by Alka’s relentless consumption of Magic Power. This ti, Alka quickly spotted the enemy. He used Blink instantly, appearing beside the leopard and swinging the Scythe in his hand.
The leopard moved with incredible speed, disappearing on the spot. The mont it vanished, Alka hurled his Scythe. He had to take down the enemy this ti. A large amount of pink mist spread out, and even with the Dream Catcher as a backup, his Magic Power was still being consud very rapidly.
The surrounding pink mist erupted simultaneously. The leopard, which had just reappeared in the distance, was imdiately dragged into the Dream Realm. The thrown Scythe spiraled rapidly towards the leopard’s location, slashing directly at it. The tip of the Scythe pierced through its entire body, hooking it.
Alka vanished from his spot again. When he reappeared, the Scythe was in his hand, but the leopard was gone from its blade, leaving only a pool of blood lingering on the branches.
"I’ve got the scent," Alka said with a smile. Though the enemy had disappeared, the sll of blood had already reached him. That was now the best tracking thod.
A Mirror appeared beneath Alka’s feet, and he imdiately vanished. When he reappeared, he was behind the leopard. That was where he had left a Mirror when he passed by earlier.
Seeing Alka pursuing him once more, the leopard seed to abandon any intention of escaping and turned to charge at him. Simultaneously, Alka swung his Scythe. Just as he watched his Scythe about to strike the enemy, the leopard suddenly lunged in mid-air, its front claws tearing at Alka’s robe of light and shadow. A gash imdiately appeared on the robe, but its defensive capabilities were still reliable.
However, several cards flew out, embedding themselves in the leopard. Water Chain and flas exploded simultaneously, and one silver card among them even sliced off one of its hind legs. The explosion and the Water Chain instantly incapacitated it, causing it to crash down from mid-air.
Alka descended directly from above. The Scythe that had missed earlier plunged down once more, piercing straight through the leopard. After penetrating it, he gave a fierce tug. The leopard died on the spot.
Alka sat down on the ground, his right leg completely numb. If he hadn’t managed to stop the leopard this ti, he would have almost lost his ability to initiate an attack.
The leopard vanished, and the forest disappeared along with it. Alka reappeared in the room.
While there was still a faint sensation in his right leg, Alka imdiately began to move, dragging his leg as he made his way to the door. He leaned his shoulder against the door, trying his best to push it forward. He pushed, using the faint, lingering sensation in his numb right leg to exert force. Finally, he managed to push the door open.
A wave of power swept through him. The numbness in Alka’s right leg instantly vanished, and even his wounds recovered. His depleted Magic Power and stamina were fully replenished. Even his spirit, slightly weary from the pain, beca invigorated. It was as if the previous battle had never happened. This sensation washed over him instantly, leaving him completely refreshed.
"This feels really good," Alka said, clenching his fists.
Although his strength had returned, he didn’t imdiately pass through the narrow gap of the door to reach the 4th layer. Ahead, he would face an enemy of equal strength, the kind he was supposed to be facing. Judging by the battles of the past few layers, he would only be a few Spirals stronger than the enemy, assuming the enemies in the Land of Trial were at their full potential. This slight advantage in Spirals wouldn’t grant him any significant edge. The Nine Spirals enemy earlier, apart from lacking a Treasure, had essentially been optimally configured to counter Alka. But a Treasure was a Treasure, after all; the advantages they brought weren’t easily overco, even though Alka had also paid a certain price. An enemy tailored to the environnt and his attack thods... So, he wondered, will the upcoming, equally powerful enemy also make targeted choices based on my current condition?
With this in mind, Alka entered the gap.
What t his eyes was a boundless wasteland. Hard rocks were underfoot, without even a hint of wild grass. Only so loose rubble was scattered across the hard-packed ground.
On the wasteland, the enemy stood before him.

I thought it might be an animal or a human, or sothing of the sort, Alka mused. I didn’t expect an undead.
Is there sothing special about this one?
He knew he would have to use his full strength on this layer. He had realized that the subsequent trials would be tailored to counter him based on his performance in the preceding one.
