Now reading: Chapter 649 - 299 Spy2 from Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer, a Game novel by Drink cola or not.

Co to think of it, that makes sense.

The Third Stage is already a bottleneck without treasures; to reach the Fourth Stage, one needs treasures. Although the situation in the Endless Sea indicated that there were quite a few treasure owners, it evidently hadn’t reached the point of becoming mainstream.

These people mainly drew from a bulletin board on the other side. It wasn’t just a bulletin board; it was an entire wall. Densely packed bounty notices of all sorts hung on it, and the strength requirent for all of them was the Third Stage. However, the rewards listed on this wall weren’t as exaggerated as those on the other notice board. The targets also seed sowhat more ordinary. Most were bounty missions for assassins, evildoers, cultists, and the like. The bounties were almost all for a few slots for enlightennt, or simply Golden Sail. The monetary rewards were usually between 800 and 2,000 Golden Sail. These were generally determined by the number of enemies and the difficulty of the bounty.

Alka had been sitting there for a long ti and noticed that almost everyone who ca to accept bounties took them from that wall; few interacted with the notice board beside it. After briefly familiarizing himself with the situation, Alka left.

He needed to go to the library in the Great Cathedral to learn more about the Endless Sea. Most of the information was collated there. Chadite had been engrossed there since early morning, and Lucilia, who had arrived early, was also present. The people in the Church didn’t make things difficult for Lucilia. However, so areas and books were off-limits to her. As for Jason, Alka had no idea where he had gone.

Alka wandered through the cathedral, winding his way around for a long ti before finally finding the library in the maze-like building. Passing by the counter, he noticed a rack for newspapers.

They actually have newspapers?

Curious, Alka picked one up and casually glanced through it. Almost all the information concerned Gemini Island and the surrounding island chains, along with so simple, unverified information from outside. It was published by the Holy Machine Church.

"If you want to know more information from further away, I suggest you buy the Flying Fish Report," the girl in glasses, wearing a form-fitting Priest’s habit and sitting behind the counter, said, observing Alka’s expression.

"Flying Fish Report?"

Hearing the confusion in Alka’s voice, the girl gave him a curious glance. She then explained, "There’s one just outside—a blue, two-story building. Its sign is a fish with wings."

Alka nodded. "Thank you."

Soon, Alka found Chadite and Lucilia and walked over to their seats.

Jason sat in a small restaurant on a street corner, slowly eating the sausages on his plate. However, his gaze and attention were clearly not on his plate but on a tavern a short distance away. He was observing the people coming and going inside.

Dawn had just broken, and a few drunkards could be seen stumbling out of the tavern. Considering the tavern’s operating hours, these individuals had likely gone there in the latter half of the night. Judging the ti to be about right, Jason finished his sausage in one bite and left money on the table. A bit of moisture appeared on his hand. He used it to wet his hair, mussing it up slightly, and then wrinkled his clothes to look sowhat disheveled.

He entered the tavern.

As soon as he entered, a pungent sll of alcohol hit him. The tavern wasn’t very noisy anymore; only a few chatting drunkards remained, mumbling incoherently. Jason ordered so snacks and a bottle of wine, then sat in a relatively clean corner. Leaning against the wall, he began to drink by himself.

But his hearing was exceptionally sharp, catching every word spoken in the tavern.

"Damn... damn cultists," a slightly chubby, middle-aged man drinking alone was muttering to himself.

"It’s already daylight outside! Holy Mother bless , I hope things are quiet when I get back," ca from a drunkard who, despite his intoxication, seed to be in fairly good spirits.

"HAHA, Old Kot, the Holy Mother won’t bless the likes of you, you damned heretic! HAHAHA!"

All sorts of information spilled from the mouths of these thoroughly intoxicated patrons.

Jason simply continued to drink by himself.

A tavern attendant had begun cleaning up the ss and trash. After cleaning for a while and tidying up most of the area, he wiped the sweat from his brow, approached Jason’s table, and sat down right next to him.

"If you don’t mind, how about buying a drink? I’ve been working in this tavern for several years; I’m pretty well-inford."

Jason glanced up at him. With a flick of his wrist, two Silver Snakes appeared in Jason’s hand. He placed them beside a glass, poured wine into it, and pushed it toward the attendant. Then he gestured towards the man who had been drinking alone earlier and cursing the cultists.

"What’s his story?"

"Him? He used to be a fairly well-known rchant around here, quite lavish with his spending. But word is, on his last voyage, he passed through the Sea of Moisture and was attacked by cultists. He had a convoy of three ships, but in the end, only he and a few others made it back on a lifeboat. He basically started from scratch, you know? Most of his life’s savings are gone now. The biggest loss was the ships."

Jason nodded upon hearing this.

In the Endless Sea, not having a ship is fatal.

He then raised his glass and gently clinked it against the attendant’s.
