In that instant, Morin understood that the disguise of their small group was about to be exposed.

He did not hesitate in the slightest, nor did he make any superfluous movents.

Almost at the sa mont the Captain opened his mouth to question Manstein, the hand resting on Morin’s thigh had quietly flicked off the safety of his MP14 Submachine Gun.

He opened the car door and stepped out, simultaneously activating [Mage Shield] with a gesture and a simple incantation. A layer of pale blue, translucent shield instantly appeared on him and vanished.

“Da-da-da-da-da!”

The next second, the sharp sound of gunfire tore through the silent night.

The MP14 Submachine Gun in Morin’s hands spat out lethal fire. A long burst of 9mm bullets swept toward the few n at the entrance.

The face of the Flanders Captain, who was just questioning Manstein, froze with surprise, transforming into a look of sheer terror.

He didn’t even have ti to react before bursts of blood blossod on his chest, and his body slumped backward like a rag doll.

The two guards beside him were also riddled with bullets almost simultaneously, falling into pools of blood without a sound.

This sudden gunfire was the clearest signal to attack!

Manstein and the other Assault Troopers in the cars reacted extrely quickly.

The mont Morin fired, they, too, threw open the car doors, using the vehicles for cover, raised their weapons, and unleashed a barrage of fire toward the surrounding, stunned Flanders soldiers.

“Da-da-da-da-da!”

“Da-da-da-da-da!”

One MG14 Light Machine Gun, plus six MP14 Submachine Guns, erupted with terrifying firepower.

The dense rain of bullets, like the grim reaper’s scythe, furiously mowed down the lives of the n in the plaza outside the command post.

The Flanders soldiers, who had been chatting on guard duty just a second before, were instantly torn to pieces by the sudden storm of bullets.

They didn’t even figure out where the enemy ca from before they collapsed onto the ground, filled with shock and resentnt.

In just over ten seconds, there was no longer a single enemy standing outside the command post.

“Quickly put on your chest harnesses! Prepare to attack inside!”

As Morin spoke, he deftly took his chest harness from the car and put it on.

The quick-donning design of the Type 56 chest harness allowed everyone to gear up rapidly. Morin also pulled out two spherical hand grenades from his carry pack.

He pulled the pins and, without looking, threw them directly through the open main entrance of the Fortress main building. One Assault Trooper followed suit, tossing several more grenades inside.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

A series of violent explosions erupted from the interior of the Fortress.

The frantic screams of the Flanders soldiers inside were completely drowned out by the explosions.

“Charge with !”

Morin did not pause for a second. He snatched the still-hot MG14 Light Machine Gun from the hands of the Machine Gunner beside him.

Then, carrying the gun by the top handle with his left hand and backed by the constantly rippling [Mage Shield] on his chest, he charged inside with great strides, suppressing fire into the interior of the command post building.

His fearless charge posture was deeply imprinted in the eyes of every Assault Trooper behind him.

“Follow the commander!”

Manstein roared, submachine gun raised, and was the first to follow.

The other Assault Troopers followed closely behind, forming a standard Assault Team formation, and stord into the command post building.

Upon entering the main door, a thick sll of gunpowder smoke and blood imdiately rushed out.

The lobby was a ss, littered with mutilated corpses from the explosions and burning debris.

Several guards and officers who had miraculously survived the hand grenade blasts were struggling to get up.

They were t by the cold roar of the Light Machine Gun in Morin’s hands.

“Fire, fire, keep them pinned down!”

“Da-da-da! Da-da-da!”

Short, precise bursts instantly ended their suffering.

The powerful automatic firepower, in the confined indoor space, demonstrated unparalleled lethality.

The guards and officers inside the command post were completely unable to organize any effective resistance.

Their single-shot rifles and pistols appeared so pitifully inadequate against the storm of bullets unleashed by the submachine guns and Light Machine Gun.

Often, before they could even aim, they were already riddled with bullets.

The few bullets that were fired occasionally were blocked by Morin’s [Mage Armor].

“Ground floor clear!”

“Second floor clear!”

The Assault Troopers, in squad units, cleared the rooms one by one. Their coordination was flawless, and their tactics were skilled. The entire process flowed smoothly without any hesitation.

Before long, the entire Fortress main building was under their complete control.

Morin led Manstein back to the communications room, located in the innermost section of the ground floor command post hall. The door had been tightly shut when they charged in.

However, just as Morin was preparing to kick it open, the door opened from the inside.

Several Flanders soldiers in signals uniforms erged, hands raised, their faces ashen.

“Don’t shoot! We surrender! We surrender!” the man who appeared to be an officer shouted in a trembling voice.

Morin pointed his gun at them, signaling them to stand against the wall.

anwhile, two Assault Troopers covered each other as they rushed to the top of the main building.

The few Magic Guided Technicians stationed inside the Large Anti-Air Magic Guided Devices had been terrified by the intense gunfire and explosions downstairs.

They even surrendered imdiately without the thought of resistance and were escorted down at gunpoint by the Assault Troopers.

Morin returned the Light Machine Gun to its operator and, at the sa ti, ordered him:

“Have the Light Machine Gun Team and two other n guard the entrance to receive the n outside.”

“Yes, Sir!”

The Machine Gunner departed with the order.

Morin walked into the command post hall, his gaze falling on the corpses wearing officer uniforms on the floor.

He knelt down, beginning to identify their rank insignia one by one and search for their identification papers.

“One Major General… two Colonels… one Lieutenant Colonel…” Morin muttered in a low voice as he turned over the bodies.

His fingers were covered in warm blood, but he ignored it, casually wiping them on the uniforms of the corpses.

Soon, he found a familiar na on the Major General’s officer ID.

Gérard Leman, who was the Commander of the Grand Duchy of Flanders Army’s Third Infantry Division and the overall commander of the entire Liège Fortress garrison.

Morin looked up and t the gaze of Manstein, who was searching with him. Both saw an indescribable mixture of shock and ecstasy in the other’s eyes.

They knew what this ant.

The headquarters of the main core force garrisoning the Liège Fortress cluster—the Grand Duchy of Flanders Army’s Third Infantry Division Command—had been completely wiped out by their small group!

Major General Leman, the Division Commander, along with a host of his senior officers, had all been killed in the brief, fierce exchange of fire.

This achievent was truly magnificent, so brilliant that it felt sowhat unreal even to them.

“Sir, did we… did we succeed?” Manstein’s voice trembled with excitent.

“We succeeded.”

Morin stood up, letting out a long sigh of relief.

“We have torn out their command post by the roots.”

Just then, fierce gunfire and shouts of combat erupted outside the command post.

It was the twelve Assault Troopers who had remained outside the periter. Upon hearing the signal, they began fighting their way in from the outside.

Because they were also wearing Flanders uniforms, most of the enemies they encountered hesitated for a brief mont.

And that brief mont of hesitation was enough for these Assault Troopers, ard with automatic weapons, to seize the initiative and unleash their terrifying firepower advantage.

Soon after, covered by the Light Machine Gun Team waiting at the entrance, the twelve Assault Troopers fiercely fought their way through a path of blood and charged into the command post building.
