Four Years in the Making: Butcher of Gadobhra Book One!
The first chapter of Butcher of Gadobhra appeared on Royal Road on May 19th, 2021. I'd been pondering the idea of writing as I read more and more litrpg during the pandemic, and had a lot of ti on my hands. The beginning of an idea erged, just a screw around story to amuse myself. So people were amused, others weren't :) So of the early chapters were awful. I'd forgotten my grammar and spelling, and I had a few 'clever ideas' that sort of fell flat. But over ti, the story grew.
After five months, I had 200 followers. That grew to over a thousand over the year, and things really started climbing. Aethon Books contacted and offered a contract. We started with Tunnel Rat, since it was a single point of view story. Butcher kept growing. After four years, and gaining 10,0000 followers, I'm happy to have the first volu of BoG join Tunnel Rat on Amazon.
Having books on Amazon and slowly becoming a professional writer is still surreal. It wasn't what I set out to do. But looking back, I can see how I fell into it. I've read comic books for nearly 60 years, starting at age 5. I love serialized stories and have owned Comic Shops for 37 years. Gaming was my other passion, running and playing Dungeons and Dragons, and other gas since college. And of course, MMOs. I started with Ultima Online after playing all the other Ultima gas, then EverQuest, WoW, and now Project Gorgon. I dabbled in a dozen others along the way, and countless computer RPGs. In so ways, I was always preparing to write Litrpg.

Now, let's get to the part where I creatively beg and grovel for a favor. Getting traction on Amazon is tough right now. Their rating system rarely updates, and new releases aren't getting the push they normally would. If you have an account over there, please toss Butcher (or Tunnel Rat) a review and a rating. Have KU? How about re-reading the book? Both will help out a lot. I'll be happy, and being happy makes write faster. I might even have a couple of extra chapters lying around to celebrate.
