Well, not many were convinced by Han Sha's words; however, they had no choice but to accept what was given.
Those from his supporting faction didn't believe that Bai Zihan had defeated him and were more inclined to accept his explanation. So even muttered about how generous and kind their Sect Leader was.
Anyway, it seed that things had settled between Bai Zihan and Han Sha.
Even if one remained unconvinced, there was nothing Bai Zihan could do about it.
"Anyway, I've finished what I ca here for,"
Bai Zihan declared.
(Beating ?)
Han Sha couldn't help but want to curse. After all, all Bai Zihan had done after coming here was beat him.
So in the end, what Bai Zihan had co here for was to beat him which he has indeed finished doing.
And here he was, regretting it all, thinking that if he hadn't gotten involved with Bai Zihan, then none of this might have happened.
But it seed that no matter what, the mont he aligned himself with the Li-Zhao Alliance, he had been dood to face this fate.
Even if he had not gone for him, he would have co for him.
(Dammit!)
Anyways, it seems like Bai Zihan is leaving the Sect now.
Bai Zihan then turned slightly, his gaze sweeping over Bai Xueqing.
"You should return to the clan,"
He said calmly, as if stating an obvious fact.
After all, the Heaven Sword Sect was less safe than Bai Clan and who knows,
perhaps soone like Han Sha who wants to make use of him might appear to target Bai Xueqing.
Anyways, it was better for her to return to the clan.
Then he added,
"You too."
He said it to Chu Ziyan.
"Okay!"
Chu Ziyan agreed easily.
Bai Xueqing hesitated, clearly wanting to say sothing, but Bai Zihan was
already turning away.
"I'll wait at the flying ship."
***
As Bai Zihan walked alongside Kong Zhanhong toward the mooring platform, he noticed streams of disciples moving about, their expressions animated, voices buzzing with excitent.
"Looks like sothing else is happening" Kong Zhanhong remarked casually.
After all, the crowd outside the main hall had been sparse. He had thought that was simply because people didn't know Bai Zihan had been taken by the Sect. Leader.
Otherwise, considering human nature, many would have flocked over to watch. But clearly, sothing far more entertaining was happening elsewhere.
Bai Zihan's gaze swept through the crowd-
And paused.
Two familiar figures stood among them.
Yun Qingi and Fei Ling.
They were Bai Xueqing's senior sisters-his as well, now.
They were also part of the group that had once visited the Bai Clan after Bai Xueqing dissolved her engagent.
Seeing them, a wicked smile appeared on Bai Zihan's face.
"Hey!"
Bai Zihan called out, waving his hand.
Fei Ling noticed him almost imdiately.
Her expression stiffened.
Displeasure flickered across her face-though only briefly.
mories weren't easily forgotten, and despite Bai Zihan's recent rise in fa,
they knew exactly who he was.
There was no way she could ever have a good opinion of him.
Although she didn't hate him, she was extrely wary of him.
"Fei, your expression!"
Yun Qingi warned her.
Yun Qingi inclined her head politely when their eyes t.
"Young Master Bai!"
"Well, well, if it isn't my beautiful senior sisters,"
Bai Zihan teased.
Bai Zihan hadn't forgotten who they were. After all, they were the first people
he had seen after regaining his mories from Earth.
Fei Ling snorted softly, crossing her arms.
Unpleasant mories resurfaced.
Yun Qingi's lips curved into a gentle smile.
"I'm glad you still rember us, Young Master Bai," she said softly. "After all...
it's been quite so ti."
Her tone was calm-warm, even.
Fei Ling shot her a sharp sideways glance.
(Glad?)
She almost scoffed.
Bai Zihan's smile widened slightly-the sa maddening, unrepentant curve
that had once caused endless trouble.
"How could I forget?" he replied lightly. "Senior sisters who left such a deep impression-especially you, Senior Sister Fei."
Fei Ling's brows twitched.
Her arms crossed tighter.
This bastard-
Nothing had changed.
At least, not where his mouth was concerned.
Yun Qingi, however, showed no irritation. She rely shook her head helplessly, like soone indulging a mischievous junior.
"You really haven't lost that habit," she said.
"That's because it works,"
Bai Zihan replied without sha.
Fei Ling inhaled slowly.
Then, without moving her lips, her voice echoed in Yun Qingi's mind.
"Qingi, what are you doing?"
Her ntal tone was sharp, restrained irritation simring beneath it.
"Why are you speaking to him like this?"
Yun Qingi's expression didn't change, but her reply ca smoothly.
"Fei, things are different now."
Fei Ling's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Different?" she shot back. "He's still the sa lecherous scher who lies
without blinking and manipulates everyone around him. Look at the way he talks-does that look different to you?"
Yun Qingi sighed inwardly.
"I'm not talking about his personality," she replied. "I'm talking about his
position."
Fei Ling hesitated.
Yun Qingi continued calmly.
"His reputation, power, and influence now stand above even so Sect
Leaders. Whether we like it or not, Bai Zihan is no longer soone we can judge by past standards."
Fei Ling's gaze flickered.
"And don't forget," Yun Qingi added, "he's recognized as one of the heroes of
the war against the Demonic Forces."
That gave Fei Ling pause.
Only for a mont.
"Still..."
she clicked her tongue ntally.
Her eyes flicked back to Bai Zihan, who was leaning slightly closer, clearly
enjoying her discomfort.
"Look at him," Fei Ling insisted. "Power or not, hero or not-he's still the sa
bastard!"
As if summoned by her thoughts, Bai Zihan tilted his head.
"Senior Sister Fei," he said cheerfully, "if you keep staring at like that, others
might misunderstand."
Fei Ling's eye twitched.
"Misunderstand what?" she snapped aloud.
"Who knows?"
Bai Zihan teased.
Silence!
Then-
"Bai. Zi. Han."
Fei Ling ground her teeth.
Yun Qingi covered her mouth lightly, laughter dancing in her eyes.
"... You really haven't changed in the ways that matter," she said.
Bai Zihan chuckled, straightening.
"Maybe," he said. "But do I even need to change?"
Fei Ling took a step forward- Then stopped.
Her gaze hardened.
"So? Did you think about what I said previously?"
Bai Zihan asked.
"???"
Fei Ling and Yun Qingi were confused.
"What do you an, Young Master Bai?"
Yun Qingi asked politely.
Bai Zihan blinked once.
Then smiled.
"As my concubines, of course."
For half a breath, even the surrounding noise of the crowd seed to fade.
Yun Qingi's smile cracked.
Fei Ling's pupils shrank.
And Kong Zhanhong-who had been standing half a step behind Bai Zihan this
entire ti-nearly choked.
"...Huh?"
(Young Master... wants them as concubines?)
His mind spun. This made no sense.
Absolutely none.
Over the past months-no, the past year-countless won had thrown
themselves at Bai Zihan.
Talented geniuses. Sect fairies. Clan princesses. Won superior in cultivation, background, beauty, and influence.
Every single one of them had been rejected.
Kong Zhanhong had assud it was because Bai Zihan loved Chu Ziyan.
And now-
These two?
Kong Zhanhong instinctively glanced at Yun Qingi and Fei Ling again.
Since he was also from Misty Cloud Peak, they were technically his junior sisters-though far more talented than him. It wasn't that they were lacking.
But compared to what Bai Zihan had turned down?
... Young Master's tastes were truly sothing else.
Then another thought struck him, and cold sweat broke out on his back.
(What about Miss Chu?)
If Chu Ziyan ever heard this-
No.
He didn't even want to imagine it.
Fei Ling recovered first.
Her face flushed-not with embarrassnt, but fury.
"You-!"
She took a sharp step forward.
"You're still joking about that nonsense?!"
Her voice was low, dangerous.
"Even now?!"
Yun Qingi was stunned for a heartbeat longer.
Then she let out a helpless laugh, rubbing her temples.
"Young Master Bai," she said with forced calm, "while it is flattering in a way-"
She paused, then added dryly,
"Junior Sister Chu would kill us."
Her gaze sharpened slightly. "So please stop joking about this already."
For a mont, Bai Zihan simply looked at them.
Then-
The smile vanished.
Just like that.
The teasing curve of his lips flattened. His posture straightened. Even his eyes
changed-losing that lazy, provocative glint and becoming calm, clear, and sharp.
"Very well. Let's stop."
He waved his hand lightly, brushing the topic aside.
"Now," he continued, his tone businesslike, "care to explain sothing?"
Yun Qingi followed his line of sight.
"So many people," Bai Zihan said, eyes narrowing slightly.
"Where are you all heading?" The playful lecher was gone. What stood there now was the Bai Zihan they had heard about-
The one who made sect leaders cautious.
The one whose na carried weight.
"...It seems you really don't know.""
Fei Ling snorted softly.
"And here I thought you ca because you were worried about him."
"Him?"
Bai Zihan frowned slightly. "Who?"
"Lin Xuan," Fei Ling replied. "Junior Brother Lin is going to fight."
