Silence swallowed the hall whole.
So lowered their eyes. Others stiffened.
Because everyone knew what Bai Zihan said was the truth.
The Li and Zhao Clans had launched even bigger invasions against the Bai Clan, yet there weren't many consequences for that.
The silence stretched.
Then-
Zhao Wutian stood up.
His expression was calm, his voice steady.
"The past is in the past," he said evenly. "We are discussing the present matter."
Zhao Wutian imdiately tried to change the topic and bring everyone's focus back to the problem at hand.
"The justification you are giving now is too ridiculous. If this is your sole reason for invading the Azure Sun Holy Sect, then we should proceed with punishing the Bai Clan."
Others quickly followed up and nodded in agreent.
Indeed, what was the use of discussing sothing that had already passed?
It still didn't give the Bai Clan justification to invade the Azure Sun Holy Sect. "Heh."

His tone was almost amused.

He paused deliberately.
"There are still more reasons."
Bai Zihan's eyes darkened slightly.
"Secondly," he said calmly, "they tried to assassinate ."
An uproar exploded across the court.
"What?!"
"Assassinate? Azure Sun did?"
Whispers overlapped, tension rising instantly.
Wen Haoyu's expression changed.
"That is slander!" he snapped. "Why would we try to assassinate you? We have no enmity with you!"
He forced a scoff.
"Why would the Azure Sun Holy Sect even bother targeting you?"
Listening to Wen Haoyu's words, others felt the sa.
Apart from when Bai Zihan invaded the Azure Sun Holy Sect, there didn't seem to be any confrontation or conflict between the two parties.
So, a matter as serious as trying to assassinate Bai Zihan, while it could be a justifiable reason, sounded too absurd to be real.
Was Bai Zihan lying to justify his actions? Or was Wen Haoyu hiding sothing they didn't know?
Anyway, if Bai Zihan could prove that Wen Haoyu had tried to kill him first, the outco of this court session might change.
Bai Zihan laughed.
"No enmity?" he repeated.
He looked at Wen Haoyu as if he were staring at sothing pitiful.
"The reason," Bai Zihan said lightly, "is because you were afraid."
Wen Haoyu's fingers twitched.
"Afraid of what? What nonsense are you spouting?"
Wen Haoyu imdiately retorted, his tone slightly nervous.
"Afraid," Bai Zihan continued, ignoring him, "that I would reveal your sect's secret. And thinking that I was cripple, you sent your Sky Pirates to kill ."
Wen Haoyu's composure cracked for the briefest second.
"Lies! All you are doing is trying to justify the evil you committed!"
Wen Haoyu imdiately defended himself, trying to put the bla on Bai Zihan
and make him out to be a liar.
Most of the neutral parties didn't know who they should believe.
While those on Wen Haoyu's side obviously sided with him completely, those
on Bai Zihan's side waited patiently for Bai Zihan's explanation.
"Hmph! You know very well what you have done."
Bai Zihan said as he glared at him, causing Wen Haoyu to gulp in nervousness
and fear.
Bai Zihan's voice no longer carried arrogance.
"The Azure Sun Holy Sect," he said slowly, each word distinct, "has been experinting on children."
Silence!
"They have been kidnapping them," Bai Zihan continued, eyes sweeping across
the court, "using them for forbidden cultivation experints."
The reaction was explosive.
"Impossible!"
"Preposterous!"
"That's a grave accusation!"
Several ministers stood abruptly.
If what Bai Zihan said was true, it would not only justify Bai Zihan's actions, but they would also need to investigate and thoroughly punish the Azure Sun Holy
Sect.
Even Zhao Wutian's expression shifted.
Wen Haoyu's face drained of color.
"You liar!" he shouted. "Where is your evidence? You dare accuse the Holy Sect
of such cris?!"
Bai Zihan did not raise his voice.
"You want evidence?"
His gaze slid briefly toward the Emperor.
"I have the rescued survivors."
A ripple of shock passed through the hall.
"We can also visit your experint room in Azure Sun and confirm it together."
Everyone looked at the two, confused about who to trust.
But looking at Bai Zihan's confidence, it didn't seem like he was lying. And after verifying what he said, wouldn't they all know the truth?
So why would Bai Zihan lie about sothing that could be easily confird?
Now, the eyes that looked at Wen Haoyu with pity began to change.
If what Bai Zihan said was true, then it would be Wen Haoyu and the Azure Sun
Holy Sect that needed to be impeached.
But obviously, Wen Haoyu still continued to deny all those claims.

A collective gasp tore through the court. The projection continued. The scene shifted again.

Blood-red inscriptions.
The cages. The experints.
The terrified children.
Formation arrays designed for forced spiritual extraction.
It continued until the confession from the Elder who told almost everything
that is to know about the Emperint.
When the projection ended-
No one spoke.
Wen Haoyu's face had turned deathly pale.
"This-this is fabricated!" he shouted hoarsely. "You captured events from
sowhere and pinning the bla on us!"
