The children opened the gift boxes and began to play, spreading all the small parts out on the coffee table. The siblings neither argued nor fought with each other.
"Where’s Uncle? Mom!" Dolly shouted to Mia Lane, "Hurry up and get Uncle to co play!"
Gigi also said, "You team up with Uncle, and we’ll compete to see who can build faster, okay?"
"Sure!"
From the children’s tone, there was no hint of dislike towards Ethan Dalton.
They didn’t probe into his background; they treated him directly as family.
"I’ll go get him!"
Mia Lane turned around and left, and soon ca back holding Ethan Dalton’s hand. Butler Warren added a little vest for him, making him look even more handso.
A trickle of drool appeared at the corner of his mouth, and Butler Warren quickly used a handkerchief to wipe it away for him.
"Ethan, do you want to play Lego together?" Mia Lane bent over slightly, asking gently.
Ethan Dalton clung tightly to her hand, shaking his head, showing no interest in playing, but rather in this sister.
This surprised Mia Lane, and she crouched down to comfort him, "Don’t be afraid, sister is here too," as she tidied the hair on his forehead.
Sotis Mia Lane would think, how great it would be if this child were dad’s?
David Dalton, however, felt very comforted; blood is thicker than water!
In the kitchen, several chefs were busy preparing today’s lunch.
"Stella." David Dalton approached his daughter, "Co with to the study."
Mia Lane looked up and t her father’s gaze, "Okay," and then handed Ethan Dalton back to Butler Warren.
She followed her father upstairs, and couldn’t help but think of the restricted area on the third floor, feeling full of gratitude.
All these years, her father had never stopped loving her.
But she had been hesitant, always lacking the courage to acknowledge him.
"Stella." In the study, David Dalton got straight to the point, "Where’s the half of the Jade Pendant I gave you when you were a child?"
"It’s at Erald Cove, why?" she t her father’s gaze.
David Dalton, with a trace of worry, said truthfully, "My half was stolen by Joan Graham, I don’t know who she gave it to, but there must be soone behind the scenes."
"She has soone behind her?" Mia Lane was shocked, "All these years... has she been restless?"
"I don’t know." David Dalton paced to the window, standing with his hands behind his back, "I never thought she would betray , I gave her enough money for expenses, gave her enough freedom and security, let her sit securely in the position of Mrs. Dalton, all I needed was for her to help maintain this household."
Hearing this, Mia Lane had a premonition that Ethan Dalton’s biological father was probably the person behind the scenes, right?

"Yes." David Dalton nodded, "My half was stolen, and we haven’t found out whose hands it’s in. I’ve seen Joan Graham, but she wouldn’t say."
Mia Lane seed deep in thought...
"So, Stella, you need to be careful." David Dalton said, "If anyone wants the Jade Pendant, just give it to them, don’t be so persistent."
