"I’ve said so much already, Trevor, I still don’t know you well enough. Why don’t you say sothing?" Jenny Hawthorne was in a good mood and quite gracious, "Like your hobbies, your love history, your life goals, and such."
This girl gave Jocelyn Morgan the impression of being a chatterbox; aren’t people supposed to be reserved at speed dating? In a rush, huh!
But Trevor was calm and composed, speaking little.
The two of them together were definitely—complentary!
Jocelyn Morgan listened as if she were watching a story unfold, absorbing the insights.
Trevor looked at Jenny Hawthorne, who was smiling expectantly at him, "Co on, I’m listening! From childhood to now, I’ve heard a bunch of good things about you from my dad, but never t you in person."
Trevor barely moved his lips, "I dislike reporting, there’s nothing to say."
Jocelyn Morgan was slightly taken aback, focusing intently on him. He stood there with an elegant poise, his eyes calm as a deep well, and said, "Getting to know soone requires ti and effort."
"Are you willing to give ti?" Jenny Hawthorne wasn’t embarrassed at all, thinking quickly, "I’m really interested in you!"
It’s definitely speed dating, Jocelyn Morgan felt inspired to write.
Based on her years of studying relationships, she thought these two wouldn’t work out.
"Then let ask you, what do you think happiness is?" Trevor narrowed his gaze, picked up his teacup, and examined it, "For a relationship, first our thoughts must be on the sa wavelength."
This left Jenny Hawthorne stumped!
She seriously pondered, "Feeling happy is happiness, right?"
Trevor remained silent.
She continued to add, "Having enough financial security, not having to scramble for money, being with soone you like, these are all happiness."
Jocelyn Morgan turned her gaze towards her.
Jenny Hawthorne further added, "Growing up, my parents have always sheltered , I feel pretty happy. Happiness probably ans being valued and protected!"
What is happiness?
Jocelyn Morgan was contemplating this question for the first ti too; happiness probably ans having parents still alive, right, a title one can actually use?
Trevor raised his eyes and looked at Jocelyn Morgan, noticing she was also deep in thought.
He softly started, "Jocelyn, what do you think happiness is?"
The girl lifted her eyes and t his gaze again, "... Why are you asking ?" She chuckled, "You’re speed dating with her, you both can just chat."
"I’m discussing with a writer," Trevor’s voice was gentle, "because the answer to this question isn’t singular; everyone feels differently."
Jenny Hawthorne turned her gaze as well, showing sudden interest, "Co on, you’re the writer, right? Don’t get too profound, be practical! Otherwise, he won’t understand what I’m saying."
"Writer of what? I just write novels." Jocelyn Morgan felt awkward, she glanced at the girl beside her, then at the man opposite, casually saying, "Having a ho to return to, soone waiting, and a al to eat."
Silence...
"Are you finished?" Jenny Hawthorne widened her eyes, not yet settled.
"Finished, of course." Jocelyn Morgan nodded, "Just those nine words, do I need to repeat them?"
Trevor was very pleased with her answer, his mood instantly improved a lot.
At this point, having spoken so much and drunk five cups of tea, Jenny Hawthorne could no longer hold her need to use the restroom. She got up and said, "I’m going to the bathroom, you two continue chatting."
Then she walked towards the restroom.
Trevor shifted his gaze to Jocelyn Morgan, suddenly noticing she was smiling, "Why are you smiling?" he asked, curious.
"Is it that rich kids can’t escape the fate of speed dating?" she asked him.
Trevor furrowed his brows and patiently explained, "Elders have their way of thinking; we can’t change that. It’s just a task to complete, et up and chat briefly. For people I don’t feel anything for, I won’t waste ti. Before she leaves, I’ll definitely make things clear."
While he was saying this, Jocelyn Morgan was continuously probing his thoughts. She suddenly had a bold guess, "Did you already have soone you like?"
