After David Dalton left, it wasn’t long before Vera Ford knocked on the open door of Ian Shelby’s office.
"Co in." Ian Shelby, who was checking dical records, briefly glanced at her from behind his desk, "Do you need sothing?"
"I need to give you a detailed report on the elderly patient in bed 28. He has nurous health issues, carries a heavy ntal burden, and without family accompanint, many tests can’t be done."
"I need to sort out this file right now, we’ll talk later." Ian Shelby didn’t stop what he was doing, looking quite busy as he occasionally made so notations with his pen.
Vera Ford had a sudden idea and calmly asked, "How about we have lunch together later? Just at the restaurant opposite the hospital, his condition is quite urgent, and you should be aware of it as the director."
"Sure." Ian Shelby readily agreed when it ca to work-related matters, "Let’s et at 12. I still need to do rounds, there are two new patients."
Vera Ford glanced at the ti on her wristwatch, "Alright, I won’t disturb you any longer then, see you later." With that, she turned and left.
Noon.
The New Joy Restaurant opposite the hospital has a buffet on the first floor, and Western cuisine on the second floor, with unique decor, reasonable pricing, and a high-end feel.
Trevor sat by the window, his charm radiating in a dark blue British-style handmade suit, making him a striking presence among the crowd.
"He’s so handso, I haven’t seen such an eye-catching man in a long ti."
"Very charming, I noticed him as soon as he walked in, he must be around six foot three?"
Two waitresses couldn’t help but whisper with smiles.
Soon, Jocelyn Morgan erged from the elevator with a white backpack and walked directly toward him, "Sorry I’m late!"
She confidently and energetically sat down across from him, "You haven’t been waiting too long, have you?"
"I just got here myself." His voice was deep like aged wine.
It made the two waitresses sigh softly, "He’s taken!" Then they composed themselves and walked over to them.
"Sir, Miss, would you like to order?" The waitress’s voice was sweet as she handed over the electronic nu board, "Our restaurant has recently launched new nu items."
Trevor looked at Jocelyn, "Let the lady order, Jocelyn, what would you like to eat? My treat."
"No way!" The girl took the nu, "I said I’m treating, let’s have so oysters, two sirloin steaks, and also a serving of hashima stewed with peach gum."
Then she handed the electronic nu over, "Here, you order the rest! Don’t hold back, I just got my manuscript fee today."
Trevor reached out and took it, he simply ordered two more dishes, "That’s enough, ordering too much would be wasteful." Then he said to the waitress, "And two cups of warm milk, please. Thank you."
"Alright, please wait a mont."
After the waitress left, Trevor looked at Jocelyn, and asked with concern, "How’s your friend who got cheated on?"
"Her?" Jocelyn shook her head, sighing, "They’ve been dating since high school, so it’s understandable it would be hard for her to accept it right away. She’s healing."
"Sir, Miss, here’s your milk."
"Thank you."
Trevor held his cup of milk, taking a small sip, "Are you also losing faith in n?"
"I’m not interested in n, so faith doesn’t really co into it," Jocelyn replied with a laugh, "I’m doing perfectly fine on my own, why would I want to find soone to cater to?"
Trevor was slightly taken aback, what kind of attitude was that? So he began to analyze her.
"Were you hurt before?" He asked out of curiosity, looking at her once again.
