Vera Ford felt incredibly frustrated, "No, we didn’t." She was a bit annoyed and a bit uneasy.
"Then why did you spend the night at his place? You live right across from the hospital!"
To Vera, this felt more like an interrogation, and she didn’t know how to respond!
She couldn’t exactly say she stayed in the guest room without permission, hoping for sothing one-sided, right?
She was a woman too, with her own pride!
"Stop asking! Go check your records!!" Vera’s face turned pale from anger, struggling to control her emotions, "And don’t ask Dr. Shelby either! Our business doesn’t need to be explained to anyone!"
Seeing her truly angry expression, her colleague didn’t dare to ask further.
The Morgan family.
Jocelyn Morgan deleted all of Ian Shelby’s contact information, yet she still didn’t receive his call.
She couldn’t erase the mories or her affection for him.
She still hoped he would call and offer her so explanation.
Thus, every minute and second was a special kind of tornt for Jocelyn!
She felt her world darken, everything felt pointless, and even sleeping beca a kind of suffering.
Two in the afternoon.
After battling in the operating room for six hours, Ian Shelby finally erged, and with the patient’s condition stabilized, he and his team all breathed a sigh of relief.
The subsequent recovery and treatnt would be a long process, and they needed to draft a plan for the patient.
"Dr. Shelby." In the office, the assistant handed him the resignation agreent, "It’s ready, do you need to look it over?"
"No need to check. Just give it to her." Ian said, "Have her sign it imdiately and leave."
The assistant briefly hesitated, thinking, why so much anger? What exactly happened?
"What’s up?" Ian noticed his hesitation.
The assistant asked, puzzled, "Did you guys have an argunt last night?"
Ian was montarily stunned, picking up on the word ’last night.’
"Why are you firing her? She didn’t make any mistakes at work. Don’t make decisions impulsively."
Ian’s brow slightly furrowed, he turned to look at him, with so other emotion in his eyes, "How do you know we saw each other last night?"
The assistant blurted out, "It’s all over the news, Dr. Ford spent the night at your place! Maybe not the world, but probably all of Riventhal knows by now."
Ian stared at the assistant, eyes filled with astonishnt, his graceful brow slightly furrowed, his mind in disbelief!
"How... you didn’t know?" The assistant was taken aback, but then realized it’s normal, Ian just ca out of surgery and hadn’t even had lunch yet.
Ian had a subtle expression on his face, a faint chill in the depths of his eyes.
The next second, he picked up his phone and opened the news page.
The headlines were dominated with his and Vera’s nas and photos!
The headlines made him both angry and speechless!
Taking the resignation agreent from the assistant’s hand, Ian walked out of the office.
Vera had a bad feeling, the news had placed imnse pressure on her, she didn’t even go to lunch, wondering if the surgery had ended.
Until Ian ca in from the door, Vera’s body stiffened, eting his rage-filled eyes!
"Ian..." She stood up, wanting to explain.
Ian slamd the resignation agreent on the table, angrily grabbing her wrist, "Quite vicious of you, bringing reporters over!"
"It wasn’t , it wasn’t..." She ignored the tight pain on her wrist.
"Vera, I really underestimated you!" Ian suppressed the tempest of anger within, seemingly wanting to destroy her, "Find a way to clarify with the dia! Restore the truth of the situation!"
"..." Vera was extrely frightened, tears welling up as she t his angry stare.
"Also, sign this!" Ian maintained a sliver of rationality, releasing her and pushing her away at the sa ti, "Don’t let see you again!"
