After a long while, she finally put down her phone, turned around holding onto the railing, her fingers gradually tightening, and a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.
Looking at the vast river surface, Vera Ford felt extrely upset.

Eventually, Ian didn’t pick up.
Vera felt a bit lost again, thinking he did it on purpose. Ian must be terribly annoyed with her now, right?
But with Dad and Mom’s relentless rural personality, how would this end?
They would definitely cause a scene at the hospital.
Providence Hospital, everything was orderly.
Ian was in a very busy state, seamlessly completing two surgeries in the morning.
Only later did he discover missed calls on his phone, from Vera and also from Vera’s mom.
He ignored Vera’s call.

"Ian, are you busy?" Vera’s mom’s cheerful voice ca through, without a hint of bla.
"Auntie, it’s okay, I just finished." Ian entered the office, temporarily free, still very courteous, "Is there anything you need from ?"
"Your Uncle Ford and I have co to Riventhal, just got off the train, we plan to go to your hospital for a checkup, do you have ti at noon? We want to invite Vivian, and have lunch together with the four of us?"

Until the end of the call, Vera’s mom still hadn’t recovered, feeling as if she lost a precious treasure.
Was the Ford family too late in taking action?
Vera picked up her parents at the station and brought them back to the rented apartnt.
On the way, her parents kept asking her if Ian really had a girlfriend.
"Yes, yes, didn’t I say so?" Vera was annoyed.
Vera’s mom reproached her, "You say you lived at his place, why didn’t you try harder during that ti? If you could be with Ian, you wouldn’t have to worry for the rest of your life!"
