"Why?" Carlotta Sterling stopped and turned her gaze, asking coldly, "You run this place? You decide whether or not people can stay?" Her expression showed a desire to stay.
"The hotel will not be accepting any new guests from today onward. Haven’t you received the notice?" Nathan Mills told her, "Those already checked in are also gradually relocating."
A flicker of sothing passed through the middle-aged woman’s eyes as she doubted his words.
Yet, the man said earnestly, "There’s an end-of-year maintenance due. All the equipnt is undergoing safety inspections for the guests’ safety. You need to cooperate."
Just as he spoke, Carlotta heard noises from outside and saw several guests dragging their suitcases toward the elevator.
Carlotta gradually began to believe him.
Nathan Mills glanced over and seized the opportunity to say, "You should pack up too. When is Janelle coming back?"
"I don’t know about her." Carlotta replied, thinking to herself, how could this happen?
But moving ant moving, since everyone was doing it; there are other hotels nearby anyway.
Shortly, a waiter ca to the open door with a friendly reminder, asking her to relocate imdiately, offering reasons identical to what Nathan Mills had said. The attitude was exceptionally good.
The anger in Carlotta’s heart dissipated; she had no grounds to stay stubbornly. She herself was a business manager, a reasonable person.
There wasn’t much to pack, so she turned back to the room and packed swiftly.
When she walked out with the suitcase, she thought Nathan Mills had left, but he was unexpectedly sprawled in the sofa, "Why haven’t you left?"
The woman entered his sight, and he stood asking, "Is Janelle’s stuff packed too?"
"She doesn’t have much, just a few clothes. It’s all here." Carlotta glanced at the suitcase and then took steps outside with it.
Nathan Mills briskly strode over, silently reaching out to grab the suitcase handle.
The woman glanced at him without saying anything, directly releasing her grip, thinking, fine, you want to carry it, go ahead!
Thus, Nathan Mills carried the suitcase, with Carlotta walking alongside him, as the two entered the elevator.
In the elevator, Carlotta called her daughter, quickly getting through, and said, "Janelle, we can’t stay at this hotel anymore. I’ve packed your things."
"Can’t stay anymore?" Her father hadn’t ntioned any plans, so she didn’t know, asking confusedly, "Why?"
"Safety facilities inspection, it’s end-of-year inventory." Carlotta told her, "I’ll find a new place and call you; rest assured, I’ve brought your belongings."
After speaking, she hung up the phone.
And by then, a taxi already stopped at the hotel entrance, Janelle Mills had just opened the car door halfway, ready to get out, when she saw two familiar figures coming from the hotel lobby.
She hurriedly pulled the car door shut, "Driver, just a mont." Directly ducked inside the taxi, her eyes peeking out the window, observing the situation outside.
Nathan Mills directly took the suitcase down the steps, heading toward a parked car not far off.
Carlotta reacted, quickly chasing after, "No, no, no! Just give the suitcase, I’ll take a taxi myself!"
"Why take a taxi when there’s a car?" The man directly placed the suitcase in the trunk, opened the passenger door, turning his gaze to her, "Co on, get in."
Carlotta felt exasperated; she was wearing a cal trench coat today, hands in pockets, looking at him coolly.
