Janelle Mills had a vague feeling of foreboding, so she picked up her pace toward Vera Ford!
There wasn’t even ti to check if Trevor was in the café; a thought flashed through her mind—Jocelyn Morgan’s disappearance might be related to this woman!
Vera Ford saw her approaching. She didn’t hide or flee, just cast a cold glance at her.
Janelle Mills stopped in front of her. The chill emanating from Vera Ford was becoming more apparent, like it ca from an abyss, accompanied by a stench!
"Why are you here?" Janelle asked with suspicion, staring into her eyes.
From her voice, Vera Ford recalled the voice of the girl next door last night and concluded that this girl lived next door!
Didn’t she like Ian Shelby? But there was another man living with her.
Vera Ford curled her lips into a cold smile, unreservedly retorting, "What do you think?" Perhaps this woman had already guessed sothing, which is why she asked.
Janelle rembered the scene from their last eting, the words this woman said to her... she was filled with hostility towards Jocelyn.
"Does Jocelyn’s disappearance have anything to do with you?" Janelle asked very directly.
Vera Ford put her hands in her pockets, smiling a bit smugly, "If I say no, would you believe ?" Her tone was really infuriating!
Janelle frowned, of course, she didn’t believe it!
Vera Ford looked at her with disdain and scorn, then withdrew her gaze, casting a glance at the seemingly calm river surface.
The rescue team hadn’t searched this area yet, with several boats anchored not far upstream.
Janelle clenched her fists, angrily questioning, "Why would you do such a thing?!"
Vera’s smile widened, her open and proud laughter pierced Janelle’s ears! It sounded incredibly grating!
Vera felt like she had accomplished sothing very successful, a joy she couldn’t share with anyone. Seeing the girl’s anger and sha, she suddenly wanted to share.
"Because she stole my man, is that reason enough?" Vera’s eyes shifted slightly, her smiling face suddenly turned dark and vicious, "I wanted her dead, so she had to die!"
So, is Jocelyn dead??
Janelle’s heart sank heavily, she asked furiously, "Where is Jocelyn?! This is a society governed by the rule of law, you’ll go to jail!! I advise you to stop in ti and hand her over!"
Vera looked around; there was no one else, so she let her rant, completely unafraid.
At this mont, light rain began to fall from the sky, sprinkling on their hair, faces, and shoulders...
"Hand her over?"
Vera let out a couple of cold laughs, unafraid of going to jail, reveling in the joy of Jocelyn’s disappearance!
The river water is biting cold, isn’t it?
Did she drown or freeze to death?
"Let tell you, Jocelyn is already dead."
Vera lowered her eyes, smoothing her freshly done nails, sighing, "These people are so useless, clearly thrown into the river, yet they can’t even retrieve a body." She laughed lightly, adding, "Hah, it’s not like it’s the Yellow River."
Janelle’s eyes widened in shock, unable to believe it as she asked, "You pushed her into the river??"
"Yes." Vera answered lightly, enjoying herself even in the rain, gripping the railing like watching a clown, looking at the salvage teams upstream.
Janelle’s heart skipped a beat, and the next second, she quickly took out her phone to call Trevor!
Vera turned her eyes just in ti to see her action, her face changed, "What are you doing?!" She rushed over, anxiously trying to snatch the phone, "You bitch! Give the phone!"
