Trevor didn’t speak, he just shielded Janelle’s shoulder, led her to the passenger seat, and helped her open the car door, letting her sit inside.
Janelle remained silent, obediently got into the car, she really wanted to ask him what Jocelyn’s aunt wanted from him.
Why did he lie?
He cared about her, so he must have lied, right?
Trevor closed the car door, walked around the car, and sat in the driver’s seat. He didn’t fasten his seatbelt and seed not planning to start the car.
He knew she must have seen sothing just now and must have misunderstood.
Trevor was brewing his emotions, turned his gaze towards her, sincerity in his tone, "Let first tell you why I’m here."
Janelle had originally been staring down at her fingers, embarrassed to the point of burning!
But upon hearing this, she suddenly turned her gaze! Was he... proactively explaining?
Trevor withdrew his gaze, speaking with a clear conscience and calm tone, "I was supposed to go to a eting at the office, but I got a call from her, saying she wanted to chat and it wouldn’t take long."
Janelle listened silently, gazing at his handso profile, thinking, is he reporting to her?
In what capacity is she listening?
Trevor continued, "So, we scheduled to et for a cup of coffee, she naturally talked to about Jocelyn. She wants to entrust Jocelyn to ."
Trevor’s frankness hit the girl’s heart heavily, she was silent for a while, trying to ask him, "And what did you say?"
Trevor turned his gaze, eting the girl’s tense yet expectant look.
He raised an eyebrow, "It’s not like she’s an item to be handed over for safekeeping, what else could I say? Of course, I refused."
It really scared her!
Janelle’s surface was calm, but inside she sighed with relief, her breathing returned to normal, and her mood inexplicably improved.
"Alright, now let ask you, were you following ?" Trevor looked at her, speaking in a laid-back tone, not sounding like he was joking.
Facing his scrutinizing gaze, Janelle felt his expression was a little cold and solemn, he was waiting for an answer, and seed to dislike being followed.
"Of course not!" Compared to being misunderstood by him, Janelle was frank, "There’s a boutique next door, I navigated over here."
Trevor glanced back at her, asking, "What do you need to buy?"
Didn’t he believe her?
"I..." Janelle coughed lightly twice, "Didn’t you get so many dolls? I’m looking for a storage box, a transparent one, cylindrical, about two ters tall. It doesn’t take up space and looks nice!" She gestured seriously with her hands.
Trevor stared at her for a few seconds, not appearing as if she was lying, so he opened the door and got out of the car again.
Janelle felt a bit strange, what was he going to do?
She saw him walk around the car and help her open the door, "Co, I’ll go with you to buy it." He was serious.
She paused for a second, stepped out of the car, and upon getting out heard Trevor’s phone ringing.
As he closed the car door, he took out his phone, glanced at the caller ID, then answered, "Hey, Simon." He put his arm around Janelle’s shoulder, signaling her to step forward with him.
No one knew what Simon said to him, Trevor did not stop his stride towards the boutique, holding the phone with one hand, the other hand stuffed in his pocket.
Instead, he said to Simon, "You go ahead and arrange the eting, I still have sothing to do now, it will probably take half an hour before I can get to the company."
"Where are you? It’s already been postponed again and again." Simon was also very helpless, he couldn’t handle it.
Trevor just hung up the phone directly, without providing any explanation.
