"Huh?"
The sudden topic shift left Janelle Mills montarily stunned. She thought she might have misheard, resulting in a brief silence in the carriage.
She pondered how to respond while Trevor awaited her answer.
"I’ve never been in a relationship," Janelle Mills said, turning her gaze, "but I do have soone I like." For a mont, she felt the urge to confess, but she restrained herself.
Trevor understood sothing from her eyes. He glanced at her before looking away, asking, "Do you have any expectations for your first relationship? For example, what is your ideal love like?"
She thought for a mont. Even though she didn’t quite understand what he ant, she still wanted to share with him.
"I think love isn’t a formula," Janelle Mills bravely expressed her opinion. "We et countless people in this life, but finding that feeling really requires fate."
"What kind of feeling?" It was hard to tell if he really didn’t get it or was just pretending not to, as he was driving slowly and asked.
Janelle Mills recalled certain monts and was wrapped in his coat again.
Her heartbeat started to race again. "Just thinking of him fills my heart with joy."
She really didn’t know how to describe it. In the face of the most beautiful feelings, she was at a loss for words. Perhaps that’s why so many love poems exist in history; everyone has different understandings.
Trevor understood that feeling too, just like now, when thinking of Janelle Mills, his heart filled with joy.
So the joy was what they understood as love, and it seed they were on the sa wavelength.
Janelle was waiting for him to speak, but a short silence enveloped the car.
Until he parked the car in the yard in front of the villa and didn’t say another word.
Janelle Mills wanted to take off the coat, but as soon as she unfastened the seatbelt, he stopped her. "The snow is getting heavy, keep it on to avoid catching a cold."
After saying this, he opened the car door and got out. When he helped her take the transparent cylindrical storage box out of the trunk, she also stepped out from the front passenger seat.
"Let take it," she reached out to him. "Thank you."
"No need," Trevor said as he walked toward the living room carrying the two ’big guys.’ "I’ll help you."
The girl looked at his tall back, recalling the questions he asked in the car earlier, still unsure of what he ant.
For now, the feeling of not breaking the ice was quite pleasant.
She could sense Trevor’s fondness for her; otherwise, he wouldn’t have spent so much ti today.
With Jocelyn Morgan no longer a formidable rival, Janelle Mills felt much more at ease and hopeful for the future, even if the relationship developed slowly.
This slower-paced relationship wasn’t impulsive; it was filled with sincerity and exceptionally thorough.
Coincidently, Carlotta Sterling wasn’t ho at the mont.
Upon entering, Janelle Mills saw Trevor directly carrying the storage box upstairs, so she quickly followed him while still wearing his coat. "First room on the left!"
"Got it!"
At the sa ti, in The Dalton Group’s multifunctional conference room, where the heating was on, snowflakes were drifting outside the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.
Along the long conference table, all the computers slowly powered up and were turned on simultaneously, with a company executive seated in front of each one. They ranged in age from 30 to 60, all with prominent positions in the company.
Each in a suit, they sat sternly upright.
Today’s eting topic was about a new product that, upon production, encountered several issues that were completely contrary to expectations.
So everyone was serious, with a focus on quickly resolving problems.
"Assistant Simon, where on earth is Mr. Trevino? Why hasn’t he returned yet?"
Finally, the older Director Lopez spoke up, asking, "At least give us a precise answer. In this heavy snow, it’s easy for traffic accidents to occur. Where is he? Is he in the city?"
