Janelle was a little surprised. "Then how did you know I wanted to play the claw machines tonight? You even topped up the tokens already? Are you a worm living in my stomach or sothing?"
"Doesn’t have to be tonight. You’ve got an empty storage box at ho. My idea is, we have to fill it up sooner or later." Trevor had actually asked Simon to get the card ready yesterday.
Janelle happily picked out claw machines to play; there were really so many kinds. With Trevor by her side, he suddenly felt like he’d gotten a lot younger too.
Nightti, inside the brightly lit little Western-style house.
Just as she was about to clear the dishes, Carlotta Sterling heard footsteps and looked up, seeing Nathan Mills appear at the door again. She stopped what she was doing, clearly stunned for a mont.
"Let ." Old Mills walked toward the dining table and industriously bent over to help.
Carlotta Sterling looked at him in so bewildernt. After a while she finally asked, "Didn’t you say there was sothing urgent at the company? How are you back so soon?" Judging from the ti, he probably hadn’t even reached the company yet, right?
"I got soone else to take care of it." Nathan Mills ran back and forth three tis before he got all the dishes into the kitchen and loaded them into the dishwasher.
Carlotta sat down on the sofa and steadied her emotions. "What are you back for? Our daughter went out."
"I’m not here for our daughter." The man stopped in front of the coffee table, looked down at her, thought for a mont, then said, "I’ve been thinking about sothing lately and wanted to talk to you about it."
Thinking of the fact that he was currently single, Carlotta’s attitude naturally softened a bit. "Just say it."
Her tone was a little cold, but she still wanted to hear what exactly he had to say.
"For our daughter’s sake, should we think about getting remarried?" Nathan Mills sat down on the sofa too.
Carlotta’s head snapped up, her eyes full of resentnt. "For our daughter’s sake?" It was simply... speechless!
"Yeah, that’s right." Nathan was very much a straight guy and didn’t really catch her aning. Smiling, he said, "We can’t ss up our daughter’s view on relationships and marriage."
Carlotta was extrely unhappy and rolled her eyes at him outright. She honestly hadn’t expected that he wanted to remarry not because he still had feelings, or because he didn’t want to miss his chance again.
For their daughter?
"My daughter’s views on relationships and marriage are perfectly normal. You don’t need to worry about that." Carlotta was really fuming as she said coldly, "If there’s nothing else, see yourself out."
Her attitude was like a bucket of cold water dumped right over Nathan’s head. He’d already worked up his courage to bring this up, and he hadn’t expected her to...
He really had been too rash. Maybe it wasn’t the right ti to ntion it, or maybe... he shouldn’t have said it that way?
Anyway, an awkward silence fell over the living room...
Nathan Mills was a bit slow on the uptake emotionally; after all, he’d been single all these years.
So, after a minute of silence, he actually got up and left.
Watching the man’s back as he walked away without looking back, Carlotta was left thoroughly depressed, nothing but upset!
Would’ve been better if he hadn’t co at all!
Listening to the sound of the car engine, it felt like sothing was stuck in her chest. She was in a really foul mood!
Nightti, in a youthfully buzzing arcade, lights flashing, music blaring.
It had to be said that Trevor’s claw-machine skills were top-notch. Beside them sat a shopping cart almost overflowing with plushies. Janelle stood in front of him, his large hand over hers as he once again taught her hand-in-hand.
"Wow! I got another one!"
The girl jumped up in excitent, her inner child fully unleashed, wrapped up in the addictive joy of playing.
"Aweso!" he praised her.
"Let try by myself!"
"Okay!" Trevor let go of her hand.
Trevor had already put his phone on silent and was fully present, playing with her.
He also kept his word and had Janelle ho before ten o’clock.
When she walked in carrying two big bags of plushies, Carlotta found it very childish. "Janelle, why are you still dragging him around to play this kind of thing? He’s a high-profile CEO. If the entertainnt dia snap a photo, the news headlines will sound ridiculous!"
