Half an hour later.
In a certain bedroom upstairs, Justin Kingston and Mia Lane are holding hands tightly, and he says to her, "Thank you for being willing to face this with ."

Footsteps can be heard coming up the stairs. Kristina Kingston collects her thoughts, still elegantly sipping her tea.
She listens to the footsteps descending the stairs to the living room, stopping beside her.
She sets down her teacup and looks up to see Justin standing by the coffee table with his arm around Mia Lane’s shoulder.
"Good morning, Mom," Justin speaks softly.
"Good morning, Auntie."
Kristina watches as her son leads the woman to sit on the opposite sofa, but she does not stop them.
"Did you visit Monica at the hospital?" Kristina intentionally brings up the uncomfortable topic while secretly observing Mia Lane’s expression, telling her son, "She cut her hand quite deeply, probably needs a lot of stitches."
"So you haven’t visited either? You’re just guessing," Justin ets her gaze, "So why should I go?"
"..." Kristina is montarily stunned. She withdraws her gaze and says nothing.
Then, silence fills the living room for a few seconds.
Mia sits quietly and serenely, and she calmly starts speaking, "Mrs. Kingston, I’m very sorry. I went back on the promise I made to you."
The middle-aged woman raises her gaze to et hers, and her eyes are as cold as they can be.
Mia looks apologetic, "I want to follow my heart and will no longer leave your son."
"What about Gigi and Dolly?" Kristina asks, "Why didn’t they attend the wedding?"
Is she trying to find out where the children are?
Mia answers, "They’re not in Riventhal."
Sothing flickers in the middle-aged woman’s eyes. Perhaps she understands Mia’s aning.
She’s able to confidently discuss following her heart because there’s nothing holding her back.
Kristina feels amused internally. No matter what, she would never use the children to force Justin to marry Monica Usher.
From a family’s perspective, they are her own grandchildren.
Besides, after spending ti with them, she is fond of these two children; they are intelligent and emotionally intelligent.
"When will they return?" Kristina asks.
Mia calmly replies, "They won’t return for the ti being, and you needn’t bother trying to find them. Since I sent them away with intention, there’s no way you’d find out."

"I had Jerry Garcia investigate your family background, and it’s a complete blank," Kristina says coldly, always having had doubts, "I don’t want the woman marrying into the Kingston family to be a risk."
"Mom, she isn’t," Justin can’t help but interject.
"Very well," Kristina says, "So today, in front of Justin and , please answer a few questions."
Mia appears very calm, "You don’t need to ask, I’ll answer myself. I don’t even know my own background, so how could you find out? I am an orphan."
"Did you just fend for yourself?" She doesn’t believe it, "What about foster parents?"
"I had no foster parents, only a kind master who adopted ," Mia truthfully tells her, "A few years ago, he left a letter and disappeared. I don’t know where he is now, and I learned dicine from him."
