Sharing the moon over a thousand miles? Kristina Kingston had a montary sense of disorientation.
"Grandma, I’ve dread about you too!" Gigi’s small figure suddenly stood up, her eyes bright and excited, just like a little storyteller, "I dread about it when I was five years old."
"What was grandma like in the dream?" Kristina Kingston asked curiously.
"Grandma in the dream? She looked exactly like you! Very patient with us, really liked us, and would tell us stories."
Gigi’s delicate features were remarkably similar to Justin Kingston when he was little. Just looking at him ward Kristina Kingston’s heart.
"Grandma, I’ve dread about you too," Dolly said softly and cutely, with cream sared on her nose. She spoke adorably and earnestly, "I dread I was sitting on grandma’s lap, watching the moon together and listening to stories about the fairy Chang’e."
Upon hearing these words, Kristina Kingston’s hardened heart suddenly felt a pang of emotion, inexplicably feeling she had let the children down.
"Grandma, you have cream on your lips," Dolly reminded, and considerately took a handkerchief to wipe it off for her.
A warm current flowed through Kristina Kingston’s heart, and she suddenly felt sowhat sad, "Thank you, Dolly."
"You’re welco."
The little girl’s voice and actions were healing.
Kristina Kingston intensely longed to be cared for, intensely yearned for family.
Having experienced betrayal in love, she was filled with distrust towards everyone. But today, the children’s affection finally thawed her cold, hardened heart.
At dusk.
Barbara Sutton chose to work overti, though today’s work was already excellently completed.
She hadn’t forgotten Monica Usher’s advice to beco outstanding, to work hard, to quietly outshine others.
To be noticed by the one she liked, to leave a good impression on him.
Finn Morgan would be alone at ho anyway, so he stayed at the company to have dinner and chose to work overti as well.
He had a kind of obsession with work.
"Special Assistant Morgan, here are the materials needed for the eting the day after tomorrow, already organized."
In the brightly lit president’s office.
Sitting on the office chair analyzing reports, Finn Morgan raised his eyes upon hearing her voice and saw Barbara Sutton handing over the file folder.
He paused for a mont, "You haven’t left work yet?"
Their eyes t, the girl smiled slightly, "Not yet," her heart already pounding wildly.
Finn Morgan, attentive as always, asked, "Do you have plans for tomorrow?"
"..." She paused, trying to decipher what he ant by that.
Finn Morgan took the file bag from her, opening it to retrieve the materials, saying, "I thought you might have plans and need to take leave tomorrow, so you finished your work in advance."
"No, no, no," Barbara Sutton laughed as she told him, "I’m not taking leave, I just...felt good today, wanted to work overti anyway, since I’d be idle at ho."
Finn Morgan’s lips curled slightly into a rare smile, because usually he was not one to smile easily.
This smile made Barbara Sutton’s heart leap with joy!
"Special Assistant Morgan..." She boldly inquired with curiosity, "What are you smiling about?"
"We think alike," Finn Morgan said as he opened the drawer to put the files inside, his tone easygoing. "Since I’d be idle at ho, might as well work overti."
Barbara Sutton’s gaze inadvertently fell on the open drawer, and she saw the comic drawings on the A4 paper, sketched hastily with a pen, yet still beautiful, filled with dense little scenes across the page.
"Do you have anything else?" He closed the drawer and looked up at her.
Barbara Sutton quickly regained her composure and t his gaze, "No, that’s all." She then gave him a slight smile and calmly turned to leave, her heart already racing like a deer!
Does Special Assistant Morgan like comics?
Could this be considered a major discovery of the night?
