Justin Kingston’s brows slightly raised, his gaze gentle as he t his son’s eyes.
"Daddy! You didn’t forget about this, did you?" Gigi’s eyes widened in surprise, "That day when I brought you chicken soup, you said it right in front of that sister! If you forgot, she can testify!"
Of course Justin rembered, it’s just... he had said it casually at the ti.
Dolly blinked her large watery eyes, "Daddy, adults don’t lie, right?"
"Even if you forgot, you should rember by now, right?" Gigi pressed again.
Being fixed with an accusing stare by the two children, Justin nodded, "Of course I didn’t forget."
"Yay!!" The children scread excitedly.
Monica Usher stood at the doorway, watching Justin bend down to make a pinky promise with the children, an elegant curve appearing on his lips. She couldn’t rember how long it had been since she last saw him smile like that.
As she looked at him, listening to the laughter inside, Monica felt both comforted and jealous.
It wasn’t until the children kissed him goodbye and walked hand in hand towards the door.
Her gaze fell on their faces, as beautiful as porcelain dolls, their little faces slightly chubby, adorably cute.
Gigi held Dolly’s hand, ignoring Monica Usher as if she weren’t there, just like last ti! They passed right by her.
Dolly glanced back at her, wondering if this pretty sister liked her daddy.
Justin’s gaze turned to Monica Usher as he sat back in his office chair, looking indifferent and dignified.
She approached, knowing his ti was precious, so she got straight to the point, "I’ve made an appointnt with a French specialist who focuses on treating stomach issues. He’s very difficult to book, and he’s arriving in Riventhal at eight tomorrow morning. Could you spare two hours for a diagnosis?"
"There’s no need to bother." The man remained expressionless, "I’m fine. You should focus on your work from now on."
"Justin, I don’t want you to..."
"I’ve made myself clear." He looked up, his gaze a bit cold, "Did President Usher not understand?"
As their eyes t, the distance and indifference in his eyes made her feel very uncomfortable.
It was impossible to persuade him with that attitude.
So, with a rejected and wounded heart, Monica Usher turned and left.
In the corridor, she dialed Ian Shelby’s number, "Busy, Ian?"
"Not really, Mrs. Usher, where are you?"
"Let’s talk on the phone, I don’t have ti to co to you." She stepped onto the terrace, gripping the railing, gazing out at the bustling city, "He’s very stubborn, refusing to seek dical help."
"Actually..."
"For the past two years, I’ve been looking for famous doctors for his stomach issues." She interrupted softly, "It was hard to get soone to fly over, and yet he won’t even spare two hours." Her words were full of disappointnt.
"CEO Kingston’s condition has greatly improved." Ian Shelby inford her, "He can already eat, did you know that?"
"What?" Monica Usher was shocked.
Ian Shelby continued, "Not completely eat, but he’s selective with chefs, currently able to eat food from a particular chef."
"That’s great, I didn’t know..." She was genuinely happy for Justin Kingston, "Then hire that chef at a high salary, where is the chef?"
"I’m not sure either, but rest assured, his condition is improving."
So, this is why Justin Kingston refused her offer to bring in a famous doctor?
Monica Usher no longer felt as upset.
His health was improving, so it wasn’t because he disliked her, she comforted herself.
After the call with Ian Shelby, Monica Usher called the stomach specialist, apologizing in fluent French.
Night.
In the brightly lit villa of Erald Cove.
Mia Lane didn’t enter the kitchen, not cooking a single dish for Justin Kingston, still holding onto her anger from Kristina Kingston.
After coming ho, Justin went straight upstairs, closing himself in the study and diving into work...
This worried Butler Shelby; why did it feel like Mr. Kingston and his wife were like strangers today? They didn’t even greet each other upon returning ho.
This won’t do, the situation between these two must be turned around!
