"What do you want to eat?" Kristina Kingston held the children’s hands. "We have mangoes at ho, also grapes, honeydew, and jackfruit."
She could never be strict with the kids.
"Grandma, I want to eat mango!" Dolly adorably raised her hand, her big eyes squinting into a line when she smiled.
Gigi also replied, "Then I’ll have mango too."
"Okay." Kristina Kingston let go of the children’s hands and stood up. "Grandma will go cut so." She said, striding toward the dining room.
Cutting fruit platters was originally the servants’ task, but now she wanted to take the opportunity to adjust her mood and state of mind.
Seeing the children’s innocent faces and their smiles, Kristina Kingston’s hard, cold heart would always soften a bit.
Even though they were born to Mia Lane, they were also Justin Kingston’s children.
They say there’s a special bond across generations, and that word holds true for her too.
"Ma’am, let do it." The maid followed beside her.
"No need." Kristina Kingston picked up two big mangoes, washed the skins clean, and then cut them in half with a knife.
Just as she was dicing the mangoes, whether her hand slipped, or the knife was too sharp, one cut accidentally sliced her index finger, and bright red blood quickly seeped out.
She stared blankly at the slice of bright red, not feeling any pain.

"Ah!" The maid was startled into a scream. "Ma’am! Put down the knife! You’ve cut your hand!" She quickly took the mango and knife from her hand and then grabbed a towel to wipe her hand.
"I’ll get you so antiseptic and ointnt!" The maid was very anxious.
Kristina Kingston’s eyes were serene, "What’s all the fuss about? It’s just a small cut." Compared to her son’s injury on his back, this was nothing.
The children, hearing the maid’s panicked voice, hurried to the doorway.
"Grandma, why is your hand bleeding?"
"Grandma, co out quickly to put on a band-aid!"
The children were extrely worried and brought her to the living room.
The butler brought out the dical kit.
"Let , let !" Gigi adeptly rummaged through the dical kit, finding antiseptic, styptic ointnt, cotton swabs, and band-aids.
How did such a little boy know so much about dicine?
"How do you know?" Kristina Kingston sat on the sofa, her gaze falling on this delicate-featured little boy.
Dolly was also helping out. She unscrewed the bottle of antiseptic and answered Grandma’s question, "Because when we were little and Mommy was very busy taking care of us by herself, if I got hurt, my brother would help . We have a little dical kit at ho, with all kinds of dicine inside."
Hearing this, Kristina Kingston felt a sudden pang of bitterness.
One woman taking care of two children, the busyness of that situation was imaginable.
After Gigi finished applying antiseptic for her, he gently sared styptic ointnt on the wound, his movents gentle and ticulous.
Before applying the band-aid, Gigi held his grandma’s wrist, and with Dolly, leaned over the wound, softly blowing on it with their small mouths.
"Grandma, I’m blowing on it for you, blowing makes it not hurt anymore."
"Does blowing on it make it feel cool?" Dolly blew a few breaths and looked up to ask.
The children completely healed the wounded heart of Kristina Kingston. After several hours of heaviness, finally, a smile lifted the corners of her lips. "Yes, it doesn’t hurt anymore."
After a while, Gigi and Dolly helped her put on a band-aid.
The maid brought out the platter of sliced mangoes.
"Thank you." Gigi and Dolly were especially polite, and then took out two small boxes from their suitcase. "Grandma, we brought you gifts!"
