After Hailey left, Justin walked toward Mia, who was burying herself in a report, deliberately ignoring the approaching footsteps.
"Mia..."
"You can leave too." Mia interrupted softly, "I don’t want to hear anything right now, unless it’s work-related."
"Her na is Amy..."
"I’m not interested in her na." Mia lifted her eyes, a hint of sternness in them, "It’s work hours, does CEO Kingston have work to discuss with ?"
Justin t her gaze; it was rare to see her this indifferent and distant.
She was truly angry, she cared.
This ant she loved him, and Justin felt a strange warmth inside, but he didn’t show it, "I’m sorry."
"Get out." She stood up, "Didn’t you understand what I just said?"
She didn’t want to talk right now, headache!
Justin had a lot to say to her, but all he managed was, "There’s nothing between and her."
Mia closed her laptop, walked around the desk, heading outside. Fine, if you won’t leave, I will!
In a hurry, Justin held her arm again, halting her steps, "Alright, I’ll go." He looked at her, "I’ll go, don’t be mad." Saying this, he turned and left, though he was feeling utterly miserable too.
How should he explain?
If he told her truthfully that he was secretly investigating the Jade Pendant, would that be terribly offensive?
Touching her most sensitive place, would she be even more upset? What would she think?
Pains from the original family are deep and agonizing, Justin deeply understood this, otherwise, he wouldn’t be investigating secretly.
After Justin left, Mia looked at the empty doorway, pursing her lips as overwhelming sadness swept over her.
Sitting back at her desk, she took a deep breath, her mood plumting to the bottom.
By evening.
Justin returned to the Vice President’s office, but only Hailey was left inside.
"Where’s Mia?" he asked.
Hailey looked up, "Off work."
Sothing flickered in Justin’s eyes, and he quickly turned to leave!
After a short while, the open office door was knocked, and Hailey looked up again to see Finn standing at the doorway, "Off work?"
Judging by the looks, he was ready to leave work.
So, she began shutting down the computer, grabbing her distressed denim jacket and bag, and walked out.
"Where are we going for dinner?" Hailey asked him, "My treat, to thank you for hosting for so long."
"Not going out to eat." Finn said, "I don’t want to compete with CEO Kingston for the headlines." In terms of relationships, Finn had zero scandals. If the dia captured it, who knows how they’d write it.
Sitting in the passenger seat of his car, Hailey sighed again and again, "n, truly stubborn by nature, only the ones hung on the wall are honest."
"You really don’t believe him?" Finn asked, honestly, he believed.
The girl was playing gas on her phone while asking, "How do you want to believe? Under the pretext of a business trip to Korland, enters a woman’s bedroom, sits on her bed, gazing tenderly at each other, it looks just like hiding a beauty in a golden house."
