When she went in, Barbara Sutton had already picked out her items and was about to pay at the cashier.
"Barbara?"
Hearing her na, Barbara looked up to see Monica Usher walking over and asked, "What did you buy?" then glanced at the bread in Barbara’s hand, "Is this any good? Does it have sugar?"
"Monica." She quickly composed herself and greeted her, "This one’s alright, I quite like the taste."
"Where did you get it?" Monica showed interest.
Barbara handed the bread in her arms to Monica, "Here, you can have these. I’ll go get more." She turned and walked away.
Soon, she ca back with four more breads, "Is this enough?"
"Yes, yes, more than enough."
Under Monica’s insistence, Barbara didn’t get the chance to pay.
"Co on, let’s go!" Monica handed one of the bags to her.
"..." Barbara had no choice but to take the bag and follow her, feeling rather embarrassed.
Monica didn’t bring up work, she only asked, "Do you need a ride?"
"No, no." Barbara deliberately avoided it, thinking it would be awkward if colleagues saw them.
Monica didn’t press on, "Then I’ll head out first. There’s a morning eting today, be safe on your way."
"Okay, Monica."
Barbara watched her get in the car and drive away, secretly letting out a sigh of relief.
Actually, Monica is a nice person, everyone just has their own choices.
Gradually, Barbara ca to understand this.
The Kingston Group, with beautiful morning sunlight shining on its building.
Finn Morgan walked into the elegantly minimalist CEO office. Justin Kingston took a good look at him, "Did you stay up late?"
"...Oh." He didn’t respond directly, "Good morning."
"You seem to have sothing on your mind lately?" As a friend, Justin inquired, "You don’t look very happy these days, what’s up? Want to give you so ti off?"
"No need, it hasn’t affected my work." Finn chuckled, "I’m fine."
But Justin’s intuition was sharp; clearly sothing was on Finn’s mind, and it had been for days.
"As long as you’re okay." Justin was concerned, "If you need ti off, just let know."
"Alright."
"By the way, clear my schedule for the afternoon for ." Justin said to him, "And lend your car for half a day."
"Where are you going?" Finn asked, curious.
"To Aethel Falls, to see them." He couldn’t wait; he had even dreamt about his wife last night.
What do you an by them?
Obviously, it’s just to see your Mia Lane, right?
Finn’s voice was gentle, "Alright."
"Don’t worry, I’ll be back before you finish work."
Then Justin began eagerly watching the ti, barely getting through till noon.
After lunch, he took the car keys from Finn and left.
He went to a fruit chain store first and bought a few large durians and waterlons, also slicing up a few boxes of cantaloupe platters, ten boxes each of jackfruit and waxberries, and picked so peaches seeing they were fresh.
These fruits filled up the whole trunk.
He sat in the driver’s seat, opened the navigation system, and headed alone to Aethel Falls.
The reason for not driving a Lamborghini was to avoid being too flashy.
Actually, Finn’s car was flashy too, but he was low-profile, so no one paid much attention to him.
The mountain road was tough to traverse, and even with his driving skills, it took him over an hour to reach.
"Look! That seems like Special Assistant Morgan’s car!" Soone with sharp eyes recognized the engine sound, turned to see, and made out the car model from afar.
The designers barbecuing in the yard all glanced up in the car’s direction.
"It is!"
"Why is he here?"
