Finn Morgan’s lips carried a gentle smile, and he no longer argued with her.
The two of them ate the noodles in silence.
Then Hailey Hale offered, "Tonight you can sleep on the bed, I’ll take the sofa." It ca from a genuine concern for him.
Finn Morgan didn’t refuse, "Okay." After all, it was his ho, and he thought to himself, this girl still has a bit of a conscience.
He watched as she cleared the dishes and volunteered to wash them.
This was Hailey’s first ti washing dishes, and she did fairly well, not breaking anything. After finishing, she dried them with a cloth and put them in the sterilizer.
She had seen the housekeeper do this at ho; she wasn’t stupid.
Finn Morgan got up and walked into the master bedroom; the feeling of sleeping on a bed was so unfamiliar, almost as if it belonged to another era.
Standing in front of the neatly made bed without a single crease, he noticed it was a significant improvent compared to the first day when it looked like a dog’s bed.
Finn Morgan’s expression was gentle, and it seed she took his words to heart.
"You won’t mind, will you?" Hailey Hale ca in and stood beside him, explaining, "There’s no ti to wash it now, you can just turn it over and use it? It’s not dirty, I shower every day, and I make sure there’s no hair on the bed even day."
"Since you’ve given the bed, you can leave now; there’s nothing else for you to do here." Finn Morgan spoke calmly, "I’m going to sleep." In fact, they each could use their own blanket.
That girl hadn’t thought of it, but Finn had, though he didn’t say anything.
"Oh." The girl walked towards the door, then paused and looked back, "Don’t lock the door, in case I need to check on you tonight."
"Check on what?" Finn Morgan turned his gaze, his face beautifully gentle under the light.
"You’re injured, right? To see if you need water, if you’re uncomfortable, or... if you need to go to the hospital?" It was her first ti dealing with sothing like this, and she was genuinely worried, since it had happened because of her.
Caught in her concern, a warm flow quietly passed through Finn Morgan’s heart, but he didn’t show it, "Got it, you can leave now."
"Oh, rember to sleep on your side!" she reminded him, "Put a pillow under your arm to prevent it from going numb."
"Mm." Finn felt a warmth.
When she reached the door and was about to close it, Hailey Hale suddenly turned back, "Oh, are you going to take the day off tomorrow?"
Was she really this anxious?
Finn Morgan looked at her warmly, "No need, it’s just a minor injury."
"Your health is your own concern," she said, "Just don’t push yourself too hard. The company won’t collapse if you’re gone for a day."
Finn Morgan watched her leave, listening to the sound of the door closing.
The girl’s figure completely disappeared from sight, and the corners of the man’s mouth lifted slightly, a deep light in his eyes.
Finn Morgan lay down on the bed, turning to his side.
The blanket had a faint scent that belonged to her, which made him feel at ease.
Hailey Hale lay on the sofa, pulling over his blanket, slling that familiar faint scent again, reminiscent of the day when a chubby guy unfurled a banner proposing to her in front of the company, and she turned around and bumped into Finn’s arms.
The sa scent invaded her senses, faint, uniquely clear, so deeply imprinted that she’d never forget it in her lifeti.
As the night deepened, both lay down, but neither fell asleep quickly, both reflecting on events and mories from the past.
At night, the lights were bright in the R-Alan Group Vice President’s office.
