About an hour later, footsteps echoed through the hallway.
Just as Ariel was getting ready to step out, she saw her husband following Monica Usher closely, prompting her to quickly crouch down again.
She observed that her husband’s face was brimming with smiles, a rare expression she hadn’t seen in ages, starkly contrasting with his attitude towards her last night, which made Ariel quite jealous.
"Monica, I think your decision is very good." Lydia Ingram praised her, "You can’t build a car behind closed doors, rest assured."
"Don’t call by my na in the company." Monica Usher wanted to keep her distance.
"Yes, yes, President Usher." He quickly corrected himself, still in good spirits, "As long as you’re having fun, any expenses are not a problem; the company will fully reimburse!"
Monica Usher responded listlessly, "Thank you, President Ingram, for your generosity."
Ariel noticed a trend: her husband was doing everything possible to please this woman.
She saw Monica Usher seated in the office chair, absent of the humility and respect that employees typically display when eting the president, she didn’t even look directly at him, as though she held a higher rank and greater power.
Who gave her this kind of confidence?
Wasn’t it Lydia Ingram?
Ariel also saw her husband in a state of flattery, his face consistently filled with smiles, "Well, thank you for your hard work."
"It’s not hard work." She looked up, her tone indifferent, "It’s expected. Does President Ingram have anything else?" implying, if not, you can leave now.
"Nothing, nothing." Lydia Ingram responded, slightly embarrassed.
"If there’s nothing, please return to your own office." Monica Usher’s gaze shifted, "I need to start working now."
Ariel looked at her attitude, and then at her husband’s submissiveness, feeling both anger and intense jealousy. This woman is really skillful!
How long has it been? She’s already got her husband completely wrapped around her finger!
After Lydia Ingram left, Ariel stood up, her eyes cold as ice, wishing she could slap Monica Usher to death!
Monica Usher noticed the unfamiliar woman suddenly erging from the office with a hostile aura.
She remained calm, rely pausing her work, eting the other’s gaze with no change in emotion.
Monica Usher’s composure was so stable that it montarily left Ariel feeling disoriented.
"Monica Usher!" she stood before the desk with an air of arrogance, "I am Lydia Ingram’s wife!" Online advice claims that only by boosting your montum can you suppress the other’s arrogance.
The tenth wife?
Monica Usher sized her up, thinking, despite Lydia Ingram’s nurous choices, he still hadn’t found a goddess.
"He promised he wouldn’t divorce." Ariel told her, "That was his vow during our wedding, witnessed by countless friends and family."
How absurd, why was she saying all this?
Monica Usher looked at her, sowhat curious, as if watching a clown perform.
Ariel’s tone carried a warning, "So don’t have any designs on him. You’re still so young, attaching yourself to an old man will only harm you in the end."
Monica Usher contemplated the fear and unease within her, truly unable to hold back from laughing.
Ariel eyed her intently, her presence filled with dominance as she stared her down! Hoping she’d back off, "Monica Usher, leave on your own, write a resignation letter, that way it’s more dignified!"
After a while, a brief silence fell over the office.
The two won’s gazes locked together, the silence making Ariel a bit uneasy.
Monica Usher subtly curled her lips into a smile.
"What are you laughing at?!" Ariel was both angry and embarrassed, "I’m talking to you!"
Joe happened to be passing by outside the door, unintentionally witnessing the scene inside. He was startled and imdiately rushed into the adjacent president’s office.
