22nd floor, Mia Lane walked out of the elevator.
In a good mood, she called Anton Miller, "Anton, how’s the competition going?" she asked as she headed towards the deputy general manager’s office.
"Is it ti to shoot the promotional video?" Anton was very perceptive.
"The first set of the True Love series is already made, it’s especially beautiful." As the chief designer, Mia found it particularly stunning, her joy was evident. "See when you can have so free ti?"
"I can do it tomorrow." Anton said, "The location hasn’t changed, right?"

Barbara quickly got up to take the docunts. She didn’t know how much longer she could stay here.

As Barbara walked down the corridor alone, she inexplicably felt a bit anxious.
Just then, her phone rang.
She glanced at the caller ID and answered, "Hello?"
The elevator doors opened and she stepped in. The person on the other end of the line said, "Miss Sutton, the car you ordered from our shop has arrived. When would you like to co for a test drive?"
"..." Barbara felt panicked, she didn’t want to buy it anymore.
After all, she was about to lose her job and wasn’t in the mood to buy a car.
"Miss Sutton?" The other person was very polite, "Are you listening? Is there a bad signal?"
The respectful tone made Barbara suddenly feel like she was part of high society. A car represented status, and she was already wearing luxury brands.

The other person was even more courteous, "Alright, I’ll be waiting for you. From our last brief exchange, I could tell you’re a straightforward lady, with excellent taste in clothes. Looking forward to seeing you this afternoon, bye!"

Barbara felt her pride take a hit. After hesitating several tis, she decided to go ahead and buy the car.
A hundred-thousand-dollar rcedes for commuting, with tens of thousands left, she could slowly search for a job, life would be easier.
With Monica Usher caught, she didn’t need to repay that money anymore.
That’s how Barbara saw it.
She even felt that she had completely severed ties with Monica Usher for life.
Just as she put her phone back in her pocket, it rang again. She took it out to see it was Monica Usher calling, causing her steps to falter.
"Didn’t the police take her away?" a voice in her mind wondered.
The ringtone continued, and she thought that she might still need Monica’s help for work-related matters.
So she quickly steadied herself, swiped to answer, put the phone to her ear, "Hi, Monica."
"Let’s have dinner tonight, sa place," Monica’s tone was calm.
"I have sothing to do this afternoon," Barbara replied, "Not sure what ti I’ll be available."
"What is it?"
"I...I’m planning to buy a car."
Monica didn’t seem surprised, "Have you picked one out?"
"Yes, I have. Going for a test drive in the afternoon."
"Got your driver’s license?" Monica asked casually.
Barbara said, "I haven’t taken the third test yet, but my skills are decent, test driving shouldn’t be an issue, there’ll be soone in the passenger seat anyway." She said confidently.
"Dinner is dinner, no matter the ti," Monica said. "It’s been a while, and I feel like we have things to discuss."
"Okay." Barbara agreed, but remained puzzled after hanging up, muttering softly, "Wasn’t she taken by the police?"
