She felt a bit uneasy but knew it wasn’t her place to ask.
After all, there was nothing Barbara could do to stop Monica Usher if she wanted to do sothing.
Barbara just couldn’t sleep well that night.
anwhile, in the other apartnt, Lydia was already snoring like thunder, lying in bed when she returned from the study to the bedroom.
Monica Usher stood at the door, looking at him for a few monts before turning around and retreating to the living room.
Fully dressed, she opened the liquor cabinet, took out a bottle of ’82 Lafite, and sat down at the coffee table.
She poured half a glass of the wine and then lit a cigarette that Lydia had brought the other day; everything has its own reasoning, and the pricey has its logic.

As she grabbed her bag and changed shoes, ready to leave, she suddenly hesitated!
She had lost her job... it just dawned on her now, leaving a look of desolation in her eyes.
At this mont, there was a knock on the door.
She was stunned for a mont before opening it and was stunned again when she saw, "Monica?" as if she hadn’t left last night, standing there with no expression on her face.
But she looked like she had dark circles under her eyes and wasn’t in great shape today.
Barbara opened the door completely and turned back into the room.
Monica Usher stepped in, "Were you about to go out?"
"..." She was a bit embarrassed, putting down her bag with a wry smile, "I forgot I don’t need to work today."
"You haven’t eaten breakfast yet, right?" Monica assud, as there was no sll of food in the air.
Five minutes later.
Downstairs in a restaurant, Monica Usher ordered two sets of exquisite breakfasts and sat across from Barbara.
Just as Monica was about to speak, her phone suddenly rang. She took a look and saw it was Lydia calling.
Without letting Barbara see the caller ID, she swiped to answer and said, "I’m busy; I have a eting with a friend. I’ll report back when I return to the office later."
Seeing that the woman’s attitude was okay, Lydia held back his irritation, "Alright." He hung up the phone, having just woken up from Monica’s bed.
He had strained his back last night and took a while to recover.
In the restaurant.
Monica Usher put down her phone, took a sip of milk, and directly asked, "Now that you’re no longer at The Kingston Group, how do you plan to bring these two million in value? Have you thought about it?"
This was cutting straight to the chase; there’s no such thing as a free lunch in the world.
Barbara had considered this question too, "If the jewelry box is at the company, no one else can get their hands on it."
"So?" Monica certainly knew this question.
"There’s going to be a promotional shoot; the brand ambassador can’t possibly wear fake jewelry, right?" Barbara said, "The box will definitely be brought out."
"Where’s the shoot happening? What are the specific circumstances? How much do you know?"
Barbara replied, "The brand ambassador is Anton Miller, but he picked the leading lady himself, and I don’t know who it is. I heard President Lane on the phone before, saying they’ll shoot when the weather clears up since it’s chosen to be on a luxury yacht, and the effects are only good with nice weather."
"A yacht?" Monica was deep in thought as she listened to Barbara, judging she had already submitted.
"Yes, I don’t know if there’s any possibility of change."
"There probably won’t be." Monica also felt that shooting on a yacht would yield the best results, "What does the box look like?"
Barbara hesitated for a few seconds, then raised her eyes, saying, "A silver box, and I know the password."
