Barbara Sutton restrained her inner tension, trying to appear as composed as possible. She feared he’d haggle if she looked inexperienced.
She deliberately wore a dress worth seventy to eighty thousand and pushed the open small box towards the man.
The room was exceptionally quiet, with faint classical music drifting in from the hallway.
Aaron Abbott picked up the box, examined the jewelry inside, and after a while, took them into his hands for a closer look.
These were top-notch diamonds; he hadn’t seen such collectibles in years. Though designed as accessories, the design wasn’t bad either.
Barbara Sutton observed his expression, trying to guess his thoughts.
Aaron’s eyes were deep and his expression gentle, making his thoughts unreadable. He was ticulously admiring the jewelry in his hands.
The longer he looked, the more reassured Barbara felt.
If he didn’t like the items, why would he waste so much ti?
After a while, Aaron placed the items back in the box and asked, "How much do you intend to sell them for?"
"Six million," Barbara said without hesitation, eyes firm.
Aaron remained calm, staring at her unblinkingly. It was the assistant on the side whose expression slightly froze.
Fearing the deal might fall through, Barbara quickly changed her mind, "Five million works too!"
Aaron exchanged a glance with the assistant, who said, "Mr. Ashford, let’s buy them."
"Alright."
Then the assistant wrote a five-million-dollar check for Barbara, took the box from the table, and handed it to Aaron.
"Let’s go, Miss Hale," the assistant was rather courteous.
She stood up and respectfully bowed to Aaron, who nodded in response. After exchanging a glance with the assistant, he escorted Barbara downstairs.
Watching her departing figure, Aaron gently placed the box on the coffee table and leaned his tall, slender fra against the back of the chair.
About five minutes later, the assistant ca back inside, walking towards him, "Mr. Ashford, I’ve already sent soone to follow her. What should we do now?"
Aaron set his gaze on the box on the coffee table, "Wait."
With just one word, the assistant understood his intention and couldn’t help but comnt, "This young woman dresses in luxury brands, yet her eagerness and pricing during the transaction reveal her intent to offload stolen goods to you."
"The main thing is this jewelry box," Aaron smirked, "A two-million-dollar diamond ring and a one-million-dollar bracelet, packed in a cheap box. What else could it be but stolen goods?"
Indeed, for such expensive items, the girl offered such a low price and even voluntarily reduced it further.
"What was her na again?" Aaron asked softly.
"Hailey Hale."
"A beautiful na," Aaron stood up, casually remarked, "But her heart isn’t beautiful at all."
"Then why don’t you call the police?" the assistant asked.
Aaron had been planning to leave but paused at this remark, turning to look at him.
The assistant t his gaze, then averted his eyes, understanding that Mr. Ashford didn’t want extra complications.
"Keep a close watch on her," Aaron instructed.
"Don’t worry, I’m following her."
If necessary, the girl won’t escape, and those items weren’t stolen by Aaron. He bought them with money.
In the evening, in The Hale Family yard.
Hailey Hale was watering the flowers and plants with a watering can, pondering the issue—what gift should she give her boyfriend’s grandfather for his birthday?
She had no experience with such matters and couldn’t ask her parents since she intended to attend secretly.
After watering the plants, she turned and went upstairs. Once in the bedroom, she turned on the computer. If she didn’t know sothing, she would just Google it!
So, she sat at the desk, earnestly searching for answers.
In the courtyard downstairs, a white Maybach parked steadily. The car door opened, and the handso Finn Morgan stepped out. As he walked into the living room, he encountered Sister May, "Hello Sister May, is Hailey ho?"
"Mr. Morgan, Miss is upstairs." Sister May smiled warmly, holding high expectations for this couple.
"I’ll go up to find her. Don’t report it." Finn wanted to surprise her.
Sister May saw him holding a bouquet of sunflowers and watched him disappear around the staircase corner.
