Hailey Hale’s gaze fell on that delicate hand hanging from the edge of the bed, the one he had just held in his palm!
Caught red-handed, feeling guilty?
The girl quickly regained her composure. Seeing Finn Morgan’s sowhat unnatural expression, she said nothing and turned to leave!
"Hailey!" Finn instinctively chased after her, "Let explain!"
In the bustling hospital corridor, Hailey ran off, and Finn chased after her!
Too much!
How could he hide this from her!!
Hailey was especially angry; she didn’t take the elevator because she’d have to wait for the doors, so she ran toward the stairway, swiftly heading upstairs!
When Finn entered the stairway, he no longer saw her figure, so he quickly chased downstairs!
The two of them perfectly missed each other.
The wind was strong on the rooftop. Hailey Hale stood by the railing, the helicopter had just landed in the spot behind her.
Thinking back to her feelings earlier, she still found it truly ironic!
He was actually holding lissa’s hand! Planning to stay with her all night?!
The phone rang, and when she lowered her eyes to see the caller ID, it was Finn Morgan; she decisively rejected the call!
He called again, and she turned off the phone.
Facing the cold night wind, Hailey closed her eyes and took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down!
Downstairs at the hospital—
Finn Morgan stood amidst the crowd, anxiously scanning around for the girl’s figure!
Did she co over alone so late? Finn was very worried about her.
Unable to find her downstairs, he ran out of the hospital to search the main street outside...
The night neon lights were dazzling, traffic flowed constantly, everything was so calm, yet she was nowhere to be found.
Looking at the nurous missed calls on his phone, Finn regretted accidentally setting it to silent, and his mood grew indescribably heavy.
The phone rang—it was Jocelyn calling; he quickly answered, "Hey, Jocelyn."
"What’s going on with you?" the anxious voice of the girl ca through, "Didn’t you promise Uncle rcer to accompany lissa? Where are you?"
At this mont, Jocelyn and so Monroe Family elders were in lissa’s hospital room.
It was Claudia who pulled her over; at this mont, lissa’s hand was still hanging over the bed edge, just drooping there, like she’d been abandoned.
Finn could faintly hear Claudia’s sobs.
"Hailey ca." Finn sighed, "She saw in lissa’s room and then ran off. I chased her downstairs but didn’t see her."
"..." Jocelyn’s chest tightened slightly, "You co up, I’ll go down, I have her number!"
"She’s turned off her phone." Finn was very upset, not knowing what to do.
"Then you co up!" Jocelyn looked at Claudia crying and Uncle rcer with a serious expression. She frowned, feeling she couldn’t handle it, "You co deal with this! Hurry up!"
After saying this, Jocelyn hung up, but Finn didn’t go up imdiately.
He stood in the cold wind, holding his phone.
Until Jocelyn ran down, catching sight of the lonely figure standing in the cold wind, and ran toward him, "Bro!"
Only then did Finn turn his eyes, "I can’t reach her, she turned off her phone. She ca by herself, and it’s late, where could she go?"
He murmured like a helpless child, "She must have misunderstood..."
It was the first ti Jocelyn saw him like this; even when lissa was about to die, he wasn’t like this.
The girl put her hands on her hips, looking around—
"Here’s the plan, bro, you go up! I’ll go out to find her!"
"You’re not of much use staying here; since she ran away after seeing you, there’s no way you’ll find her!"
"Maybe she’s hiding in the shadows now? Let explain to her! I promise to make it clear as crystal!"
What she said wasn’t unreasonable; though Finn was worried, he still headed toward the hospital lobby.
In lissa’s hospital room—
Claudia knelt at her daughter’s bedside.
Holding her hand and crying—
"lissa, you truly are unfortunate!"
