After the call ended, without waiting for Finn Morgan to speak, Hailey Hale began, "Don’t worry, I’m not unreasonable like that, but don’t take it for granted. What you owe , you have to return."
Their gazes t, Finn Morgan raised the corners of his mouth, reaching out to playfully tap her nose, "Can I repay it with the rest of my life?"
Hailey smiled, in that smile there was trust and sweetness.
At this mont, in the spacious hospital room, lissa rce was sitting alone against the headboard, feeling almost recovered.
After taking Dr. Shelby’s dicine, she felt much better and her wounds healed quickly.
But why did Finn Morgan stay?
This puzzled lissa as, based on his personality, wouldn’t he have just left after she woke up?
Even Hailey Hale was acting strange, not at all like Finn Morgan’s girlfriend; not only was she not angry, she insisted on staying here?
What kind of logic is that?
Even taking a call, both of them went out to answer it?
lissa was very sensitive, she felt sothing was amiss, and combined with the expressions and states of her parents, she understood after being around them long enough that they must be hiding sothing from her!
"I want to be discharged now!"
When Finn Morgan and Hailey ca in, lissa said to them, "I feel much better."
"Are you a doctor? Your feelings?" Hailey Hale sat down in the chair by the bed, "Be obedient and listen to the doctors, fully recover from the car accident injuries before being discharged."
"How much longer?" She didn’t like staying here.
"Depends on your recovery! If it’s quick, one or two days."
lissa looked at the man not far away, "Finn, I’m thirsty."
"Okay."
Watching him turn to pour water, lissa was still infatuated, even for a mont she had the illusion that this man was her boyfriend.
"Here."
Handing the cup of water to her, Finn Morgan noticed she was still lost in thought.
Hailey Hale took the cup, patiently asking, "Weren’t you thirsty? Drink up!"
When lissa looked at her, her expression turned sour, taking a sip of the cup before handing it back.
Hailey was very magnanimous, like a friend asking, "What do you plan to do after you are discharged?"
"I don’t want to talk about the future with you." lissa pulled the quilt over herself, closing her eyes in disdain.
Hailey didn’t get angry either, she got up and walked to the window.
After a while, Finn Morgan ca to the bedside, he softly asked, "What would you like for lunch?"
The familiar voice made lissa open her eyes again, her tone much gentler, "Would you be willing to cook for ? I want to eat what you cook. Don’t let her help! Don’t make two portions! Only make it for ."
lissa thought to herself, let’s see if he is willing to comply!
"..." Hailey was speechless, she smiled, not holding it against her.
"Okay." Finn Morgan agreed.
Fulfilling the last wish of a dying person could be considered a good deed, right?
But the more Finn Morgan complied, the more lissa felt like she was dreaming.
Until the doctor ca, she seized the opportunity to ask, "Doctor, am I okay? Do I have... any missing organs or anything?"
"No," the doctor replied, "you’ve been taking Dr. Shelby’s dicine and have been recovering quickly."
"Then when can I be discharged?"
"The day after tomorrow." The doctor concealed the fact she had a terminal illness, seeing her still looking good, hoping she wouldn’t be all skin and bones when she left.
At night, in Riventhal.
In the warm yellow-lit study upstairs at Hale Villa, Dennis Hale was on the phone, carefully listening, a slight furrow on his brow,
"Oh, okay, be sure to stay safe." His expression was serious, voice low, "The situation is tense lately."
At the door, Paige ca in holding a bowl of freshly simred chicken soup, hearing footsteps, the man turned his gaze, he quietly said to the person on the other end of the phone, "Let’s leave it at that, report again if anything cos up."
After speaking, he ended the call.
