In the study upstairs, after Secretary Shaw entered, the entire door was locked.
Paige paced back and forth in the living room downstairs, deliberately checking the ti on the wall clock, occasionally glancing at the corner of the stairs. It was quiet all around.
She was a bit worried, her mind filled with countless thoughts, and eventually sat alone on the sofa, sipping tea.
Until two hours later—
Footsteps were heard from the stairs.
Paige quickly lifted her gaze, seeing Secretary Shaw coming down, "Hello, madam," he greeted politely.
She quickly put down the teacup and stood up, not having ti to ask anything as she watched him leave the living room and get into his car, which drove away shortly after.

After a while, footsteps approached from behind. Standing at the living room door, Paige was startled and turned to see Dennis Hale appearing on the stairs.
In a black suit, he was tall and imposing, yet his complexion didn’t seem good, with a slight furrow in his brow, looking grave.
"Dennis."
The woman moved towards him quickly, asking with concern, "Did sothing happen?"
Dennis Hale looked at her, as she continued to ask—
"Why did Secretary Shaw co ho? This is the first ti. What took so long to discuss? Is everything resolved?"
Her voice carried unease and worry.
"There’s always so bother at the office. Do you think being the mayor is easy?"
Dennis Hale adjusted his clothes and sighed slightly, "But Secretary Shaw can handle it soon. I’ve already discussed the solution with him, so you don’t have to worry too much."
Hearing this, Paige felt a bit relieved, "There are many things I can’t help with; I’m just really worried about your health. You haven’t been sleeping well lately."
"It’s okay, I slept much better last night." Dennis Hale reassured her, "That tranquilizer tonic is indeed effective."
Paige reached out to hug him, wrapping her arms around his waist, resting her cheek against his chest, "Dennis, you must stay well."
Hearing this, Dennis Hale frowned tightly, "What’s the matter with you?!" He pushed her away!
He scolded, "Stop saying such discouraging things!!"
Paige was shocked, looking bewildered, "..." taking quite a while to co to her senses.
The silence in the living room slowly drew Dennis Hale back to his senses as the couple’s eyes t, "I..." he wanted to explain, but didn’t know how to start.
"I know work is stressful and tiring for you." Paige felt wronged, "I’m just worried about your health; after all, we’re getting older, not like when we were young. We’re aging year by year."
"I know, I’ll take care of myself." His tone softened considerably.
Tears of grievance welled up in her eyes, but she pursed her lips to keep them from falling.
Dennis Hale stepped forward and gently wrapped her in his arms, "I’m sorry..."
At this ti, Finn Morgan was flying Hailey Hale back to Riventhal by helicopter.
The atmosphere along the way was awkward; neither spoke, but both were contemplating the request lissa rce made.
Just as they left, lissa was still coughing, with traces of blood in her sputum, not in good condition. The Monroe Family elders stayed by her side, as the doctor administered IV drips.
Finn Morgan didn’t go directly to the company but took Hailey back to the apartnt.
The elevator ascended, and the two still didn’t communicate, but their thoughts began to converge.
