The door opened, and the doctor ca in with the films, "Congratulations, there’s no major issue. Just rest at ho and drink plenty of hot water."
"Okay, thank you, doctor."
Hailey was still wearing her wedding dress. Although her hair was a bit disheveled, she still looked beautiful, a striking sight in the hospital room.
The doctor glanced at them, then left with a gentle expression.
The door was ajar, and Dennis Hale ca in. When he saw his daughter in a wedding dress, he felt a montary disorientation and was quite emotional.
"Dad..." Hailey was a bit surprised, "Did you really co?" She glanced at Finn Morgan.
"Hello, Uncle." Finn quickly stood up.
Dennis Hale was still very emotional. As an old father, he must have imagined countless tis what it would be like when his daughter got married.
Now seeing his daughter in a wedding dress, this scene moved him greatly.
He couldn’t help but lant how ti flies and that his daughter had grown up.
"Dad, it’s just a minor injury, my scalp was pulled slightly, it’s nothing serious," Hailey said lightly, "I don’t even need to be hospitalized, I can leave soon."
"That’s great, that’s great..." Dennis Hale finally felt relieved.
"You’re so busy, I told you not to co." Hailey was still very touched.
"I was just worried about you."
At this point, Dennis Hale’s phone rang. He received a call from his office, "Alright, alright, I’ll be there to handle it right away."
After hanging up, he said to Finn Morgan, "Finn, thank you for taking care of Hailey here, Uncle really appreciates it."
"Go ahead, Uncle, it’s my pleasure."
Dennis Hale nodded, and as he walked out of the hospital room, he hadn’t taken a few steps.
The elevator door opened, and Justin Kingston and Mia Lane ca into view. His chest tightened slightly, feeling a bit guilty.
After all, he knew that Justin was secretly investigating him, so he felt a bit like a mouse encountering a cat.
But Dennis Hale was, after all, the mayor. He wasn’t an ordinary actor. He approached them with a smile, "CEO Kingston, President Lane, you’re here too?"
Justin stopped in front of him, "How’s Hailey? Is she seriously injured?"
"Mayor Hale." Mia Lane greeted him calmly.
Dennis Hale nodded, "It’s not serious, she just finished the checkup, no need for hospitalization."
"I heard she saved Gigi and Dolly." Mia said gratefully, "The kids were nearly kidnapped. Thanks to Hailey, otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable."
"Thank you for taking the ti to visit her, I just ca out of the ward, and the doctor said everything is fine. She just needs so rest."
Upon hearing this, Mia also felt relieved.
Justin’s deep gaze remained on Dennis Hale, looking into his eyes as if delving into his innermost thoughts.
And Dennis Hale, being stared at like that, felt sowhat uncomfortable yet maintained an awkward smile on his face, "CEO Kingston, President Lane, how are the children? Were they frightened?"
"It’s fine," Justin spoke softly, "My children are not easily scared, they’ve seen all sorts of situations."
"Yes, yes, yes." Dennis Hale smiled, not knowing what else to say for a mont.
Mia understood Justin’s implication.
She also found it quite awkward, glancing at him, then back at Dennis Hale, whose mid-aged face looked a bit unnatural, with a slight sheen of sweat on his forehead.
Until Justin withdrew his gaze, speaking calmly, "Mayor Hale, you go ahead and handle your work, we’ll go in and see Hailey."
"Alright, alright, alright," he said, a bit incoherent, yet with a full smile on his face, "I’ll head back to the office first, there’s sothing I need to deal with."
"Hmm." Justin nodded calmly.
Only then did Dennis Hale, with a trembling heart, lift his steps to leave. His heart was pounding, wondering how much information Justin had gathered about him.
Dennis Hale felt uncertain.
