When Joan Graham saw the photograph, her fingers gripping the phone began to tremble, and it felt as if all the blood in her body had frozen!
A team buying cake??
Seeing this scene with her own eyes really caught her off guard!
Because the smile on David Garcia’s face was one of pure happiness, a smile that Joan had never seen in her entire life, a smile that ca from the heart, full of doting affection.
"Mom, is there sothing delicious on the phone... phone... phone?"
Ethan Dalton looked up at her, laughing gleefully!
Joan Graham did not answer.
The little boy got up and ca to her side, catching a glimpse of the phone screen—where his father’s hand was holding a cake!
He was instantly overjoyed!
"Dad! Da... Dad! Bought... bought a cake! For... for to eat!" Like a three-year-old child, he clapped his hands in excitent!
Joan hurriedly put away the phone, her expression sowhat heavy.
Butler Warren wiped the drool from Ethan Dalton’s mouth with a handkerchief.
"Eat! Eat cake! Not... not eating dinner!" He remained excited, eagerly looking out into the yard, standing on tiptoes, "Dad, the car..."
Joan glanced out the window, thinking he had co back!
But the yard was quiet and empty. A shade of sadness flashed in the woman’s eyes again.
"Where’s the car... why isn’t it back yet? Where’s Dad?" The little boy imdiately lowered his head, his face full of disappointnt.
Joan could no longer sit still, looking up at Butler Warren, "Is there any of the chicken soup I just made left?"
"Yes, madam, I saved so for Mr. Dalton, it’s being kept warm in the crockpot."
"Help pack so in a thermal bowl." Joan decided, "I will take it to him."
Butler Warren was startled, "Yes, madam." He then turned around to prepare it.
Soon, Joan walked out the door with a bag holding the thermal bowl, and she hailed a cab.
She didn’t drive because she didn’t want to be tracked.
For so reason, the Dalton family is under constant surveillance, with even the cars equipped with GPS. David Dalton is very suspicious, maybe after Stella disappeared, his sense of security reached the highest level.
On the way to the company, Joan imagined countless scenes she might encounter inside the company...
Were they cozying up together?

Was Mia Lane sitting on his lap?
Joan wasn’t cowardly, she just didn’t want to blow things out of proportion.

Joan snapped back to reality, turned her gaze to the cloud-touching building of The Dalton Group, paid, and got out of the car.
Entering the lobby, she took the elevator upstairs.
As the president’s wife, naturally, no one dared to stop her.
As she walked out of the elevator, her heartbeat inexplicably quickened; delivering chicken soup was just a façade, she was there to take photos, to gather evidence.
In case David Garcia ran into her, she would just say she was delivering chicken soup to him.
Joan was indeed quite smart.
Her steps were light, getting closer and closer to the president’s office... and she grew more nervous.
The spacious and bright president’s office was well-lit.
Trevor wasn’t there, but Mia Lane and David Garcia were.
Yes, it was just the two of them.
In front of the custom-made rosewood desk, David Garcia sat in an office chair, Mia Lane sat on a stool beside him, holding several freshly made design drafts, discussing her opinions with him.
"President Dalton, these two were designed by Edie."
Mia Lane smiled as she saw he was almost done appreciating them, "Edie has a ticulous and perfectionist nature, as you can tell from her work."
"The young lady is excellent, and her work is marvelous." David Garcia nodded in satisfaction, looking kindly at Mia Lane.
The father-daughter duo’s eyes t, both had smiles in their eyes.
Outside the door, Joan saw this scene without missing a beat!
Their smiles cut deeply into her heart!
