Three days later, in Gu Lingqian’s hospital room.
When Gu Feimo entered, Xia Yinian was feeding Gu Lingqian porridge.
This was the third day after the surgery; Gu Lingqian’s face was still sowhat pale, but he seed much more spirited.
Gu Feimo said, "Grandma knows about it now. The old man is bringing her here. When you et her later, don’t go into detail; I’m afraid it’ll upset her."
He glanced at Xia Yinian, "So things are better left unsaid."
"I know." Now, Xia Yinian didn’t seem to dislike Gu Feimo as much.
On the contrary, she could actually empathize with how Gu Feimo was feeling.
Although what he did to her before was really crossing the line, what if she were in Gu Feimo’s shoes?
Perhaps, she would act even more outrageously and use even more ruthless tactics.
"Nian Nian is more sensible than you. Go get ready to pick up Grandma," said Gu Lingqian, sitting on the bed, with a hint of a warning in his voice.

Xia Yinian pretended not to notice and continued to scoop up a spoonful of porridge, feeding him.

"Uh-huh." Xia Yinian nodded, smiled at him, and brought the porridge to his lips again.
"The doctor said that you need to eat a liquid diet for a few days. We’ll check your condition tomorrow, and if it’s okay, I’ll give you sothing tastier to eat."
This plain porridge can’t be greasy or too rich; it’s bland and tasteless. Eating this for three days must be annoying, right?
But Gu Lingqian shook his head. She didn’t know that as long as she fed him, even drinking plain water would make him feel content.
He realized how much he truly loved this girl. He might not have noticed it if nothing had happened.
But once the problems arose, there was no ti for him to think; he instinctively wanted to use his own body to protect her.
To him, she was more important than his own life.
After finishing the second bowl of porridge, Xia Yinian began cleaning up. As she was about to take the bowl to wash, he suddenly called her faintly, "Nian Nian."
"What is it?" Seeing his expression, as if he had sothing to say, Xia Yinian put down the bowl and sat back beside the bed.
"Is it about Grandma coming over later? Don’t worry, I won’t say anything out of turn."

"Why are you apologizing out of nowhere?"
"I’ll resolve the matter with Uncle as soon as possible. But for now, I’ll have to ask you to keep up the pretense of being my girlfriend in front of Grandma."
