When Xia Yinian spoke, she was still looking ahead.
Even though she knew there would be another chance in three years, her heart still ached.

Xia Yinian was slightly stunned, turning her head to look at the man beside her.
As she withdrew her gaze, Gu Lingqian lightly pressed his lips together, shifting his gaze to the screen.
"The last three seconds to collect fingerprints, countdown begins, three, two..."
At this mont, the contestants were so tense they almost forgot to breathe.
Everyone’s eyes were locked on the big screen on stage, except for Xia Yinian.
She kept looking intently at the man beside her until Gu Lingqian took her middle finger and placed it on the fingerprint detector, and she snapped out of it.
In an instant, the place erupted into noise, but Xia Yinian could only hear a faint sound.
She glanced at the screen and unexpectedly saw her na.
Though it was at the very bottom row, it was indeed her na.
She couldn’t make it to the top three, but at least she had a chance to participate in the International Alchemy Competition at the end of the year, right?
"Brother Ling Qian, I... I made it, I really made it." Xia Yinian bit her lip, tears welling up in her eyes.
"I have a chance to represent Ye City at the end of the year, I really made it."
Gu Lingqian hugged her tightly, not saying a word.
The judges had their backs to the big screen, but a slightly smaller screen was set up to their right as well.

"This year’s top five results are sowhat surprising, aren’t they?" The Emcee raised his hand, looking at the big screen with the audience.
"The champion of this session is Lady Yuan Yaying. Let’s give her our warst applause and most sincere congratulations!" The Emcee turned around and waved.
The top five were announced. Although more than ninety percent of the people below didn’t have a chance, looking at the nas above, everyone seed slightly accepting.
At least this year’s competition seed indeed fairer than before.
