Kale looked at his master, stunned; all the sleepiness from his mind disappeared as if a bucket of ice-cold water had been dunked on him out of nowhere.

Kale knew the rarity of each and every species' corpses he requested. Which was why the words of his master took him by surprise.

Even for his master, to get the species of those rare Beasts of Ravager rank, it definitely was no easy feat.

His master raised an eyebrow, seeing his reaction, "I only have the Ravager rank ones; as for the Tyrant rank body parts, it will still take a few more days."

Lazek handed Kale another pouch and left the room without waiting for Kale to say anything.

Kale used his mana and checked the insides of the spatial storage, and there indeed was everything that he required, and from the state of things, it didn't seem like those creatures were killed too long ago.

Though a large part of that was likely due to the preservation enchantnts on the storage device.

He found another thing amiss: there was a small pill box left on the table.

As Kale opened it, he saw a radiant green pill within, oozing with a soothing fragrance.

He naturally knew what that pill was. Kale sighed and took it into his mouth, as the dicinal properties lted into his mouth. A mix of sweet and bitter taste invaded his tongue, followed by a nourishing energy that eased his mind and body, removing all fatigue.

The lingering throbbing at the back of his head disappeared; his face looked fresh and hydrated.

Kale whispered gratefully, "Thank you, master…."

Resolution appeared on his face; Kale went and talked to the manager of the Apprentice Dorm, taking the keys to his personal experintation chamber within the building.

As he entered the room, it was already cleaned, thankfully.

The first thing Kale did was set the artifacts neatly on the large stone table, where he would mostly do the experints.

Kale did not bring out any of the rare species' corpses to examine them first; rather, the first he needed to examine was sothing that could guide him onto the right path: a blueprint of the geno sequence of the strongest being already in his hands.

He said ntally, 'System, isolate this room, and give a drop of the Dragon blood.'

The system did not respond, but an invisible layer of power spread from Kale's body, covering the whole room and shielding his activities from any outside scrutiny.

A drop of shimring blood oozing with divine energy appeared on a pot set on the table.

Kale looked at it intently and thought to himself.

This world's chanisms for creating Chiras are very different from Earth's scientific approach.

In this world, they mostly create Chiras through either organ implantation or crossbreeding.

But that's only the basic level of approach. These Chiras could, at best, be pseudo-Chiras.

Rather, for true Chira creation, they mix Beast Cores through very complicated procedures. Often planting one creature's Beast Core onto another and vice versa.

Kale spoke aloud, "Any of those thods that are prevalent in this world, none of it would work, would it? Because the world itself won't allow the creation of beings as powerful as Dragons, even if the thod had hope of working, right?"

The system responded curtly, [That is indeed correct.]

So, Kale added, "This world doesn't even have the tools necessary through which I can make modifications to the geno sequence and extract various specialized traits. And if I want to make the necessary equipnt myself before attempting to do the real work."

"By that ti, I would have died a hundred tis over…," said Kale coldly.

After that, there was a long stretch of silence, but Kale did not say more; he remained quiet. By now, he had realized that the system was very intelligent.

Though he was unsure if it was a sentient being or an Artificial General Intelligence.

Eventually, the system did respond: [Partial access to the Gene Lab has been granted to the Host]

[But as a result, 5 days of life span has been deducted from the Host]

[Ti remaining for mandatory Quest: 25 days 14 hours, 33 minutes and 44 seconds... ]

Suddenly, a wave of intense dizziness washed over Kale's mind; for a mont, it felt as if all the strength in his body had been sapped away.

His knees hit the floor, overco by the sudden weakness of his remaining 1/6th of the lifespan being taken away.

His face twisted into a hideous grimace towards the damned system; he was furious to say the least.

But in the end, he could not do anything, as the sound of the seconds ticking by graced his ears.

Kale got up and said, "Activate Gene Lab…."

The mont he said that, a greenish light overca the chamber, as multiple pieces of scientific equipnt manifested; not physical, they seed constructed from an unknown form of energy glowing a greenish hue.

Using the microscope, Kale zood deeper and deeper into the drop of Dragon blood. The more he observed, the more astonished he beca by the sheer complexity and difference between the DNA of Dragon and a human being.

Humans might as well look as simple as cattle compared to the Divine Race.

After observing and ntally noting each part of that mind-boggling genetic sequence that symbolized the source code of the most powerful creatures of this world, Kale finally moved his eyes away from the microscope.

Kale wiped the sweat from his forehead, and his head had started to ache once more.

To think that the information contained in that DNA was more complex than all the information he had read till now, along with the feeling of weakness hovering over him due to his lifespan being deducted.

Kale really was feeling like shit.

He waved his hand, and the energy-projected form of the microscope disappeared, and he moved to the larger, emptier section of the chamber.

With a ntal command, Kale brought out the corpse of the first beast from the pouch given by his master; this would be the first one he would dissect.

It was a massive coiling serpent, filled with stripes of mud color and black.

It was called Deep Earth Serpent—one of the Beasts with the greatest affinity for the Earth elent.
