The guys advanced.
"I didn't expect you to show up," Nat said. "Kunjunni thought otherwise." He kept a reasonable distance from Yesu. A bit wary.
Yesu didn't flinch. She glanced at the girl who avoided her gaze.
"What are you creeping up to now?" she asked.
"Nothing much," Kunjunni called out from the exit, standing straight. "Just filming a docuntary. And getting a little revenge while we're at it."
The guy with the cara moved a bit closer.
Nat strolled over to the side and picked up a thick tal rod from the floor.
"Let's have a rematch, shall we?" He said, swinging the rod around.
"Not interested," Yesu said evenly.
"Oh, co on. I really want to see that zombie movie of yours again. I wonder if your head still hurts."
"I wonder what you have for brains."
Nat attacked and swung the rod in the direction of her face.
Yesu dodged instinctively, bending low. She kicked him in the knee. He shouted, clutching his leg and staggering back.
The guy holding the cara whistled, zooming in on Yesu. The one standing next to him rushed towards her and raised a fist.
Yesu dodged again, grabbed hold of his shoulder joint and twisted with all her might
He went down on his knees, shouting in pain.
Nat ca back at her, swinging the rod recklessly.
Yesu abandoned the shoulder, moving backwards, dodging every strike of the rod.
"Sweet." Said the caraman, following the fight.
Kunjunni watched attentively.
The girl stood still at the edge, looking down at the pavent below, as if nothing was happening behind her.
Yesu tripped on a broken chair at her back, almost falling.
Nat seized the opportunity and gave the rod a final swing with force
It made a hollow sound as it hit the side of her head
Everything went still for a mont.
Yesu staggered a few feet backwards, head twisted to the side from the impact, face completely covered by hair. Blood dripped down her chin, dropping on her shoulder rapidly.
Nat breathed shakily.
The guy tilted his cara, expecting her to fall.
The girl looked back.
Kunjunni left the exit, coming closer to the scene. Then he stopped suddenly
Yesu had stopped staggering. Her head slowly shifted back into place. She gave her neck a slight crack and gently pushed her hair back from her face.
The caraman's mouth fell open, but the cara never lowered.
Nat's eyes dilated
Kunjunni smiled. "Got that?" He asked the caraman who couldn't respond.
"You've crossed a line," Yesu said, walking towards Nat.
It was his turn to stagger backwards.
Yesu caught him in a few strides, flung the rod out of his hands, brought him to her level and sent her knee straight to his gut
He doubled over but that wasn't the end of it. Yesu dragged him by the ear, leading him to the ledge where his victim stood.
His friends did nothing
"Hey, Trystia," Yesu said. "Here's the coward that's been bullying you. Doesn't seem so mighty now, does he?"
The girl looked at them both. Yesu's bloodstained face and shirt, Nat wincing in pain under her grip, blood running out of his nose.
She smiled sadly. "So you finally rembered my na."
"I'm sorry," Yesu said. "I hardly pay attention in class."
"I know."
Yesu smiled faintly. "You can co down now. No one is forcing you to do things anymore."
Trystia looked down. Students were still excited, pointing and shouting.
"No one is forcing to be here." She said,
"Trystia," Yesu said calmly. "Please, co down."
"No." Her voice was flat. "I suddenly feel seen. I feel like I'm on top of the world. No one will ever be able to hurt again."
Yesu pulled Nat's ear harder. "Apologize." She told him.
He said nothing.
She punched him in the gut. He gripped it with a shout.
"Shit."
"Apologize to her." Yesu raised her voice slightly. He hesitated. She raised her fist to his face. He panicked.
"Alright, I'm sorry." He blurted.
"Do it properly."
"Fucking bitch." He said under his breath. "I'm sorry, Trystia." He yelled.
Trystia didn't even look.
"Tell her to co down, that you or anyone else will never bother her again."
Nat sighed. "I will never bother you again. Co down."
Trystia put a foot forward, eyes still on the ground.
"Beg her," Yesu shouted at Nat.
Nat seethed. "For fuck sake, can't you see the bitch has already made up her mind to off herself?"
Yesu pushed him aside, stretched out a hand to Trystia.
"Take my hand."
"There's nothing left for ."
"Doesn't matter. You can figure sothing out."
Trystia faced her.
"There's nothing for either." Yesu continued. "Life is what we make it."
Trystia stared at Yesu's outstretched hand, at the ground, then back at the hand. She sighed and reached for it.
But just as their hands touched, Trystia slipped.
And fell off the edge
Without hesitation, Yesu climbed onto the ledge and jumped after her.
For a mont, everything slowed.
Gasps erupted from the windows above. Students scread.
Trystia fell first
Yesu dropped after her.
Wind tore through her hair and clothes as the rooftop disappeared above them.
Then Yesu saw it.
One of the blue and white bunting lines stretched across the space between buildings, fluttering wildly.
She reached out. Her fingers caught the fabric. The line snapped taut so violently it cut into her palm, the force jerking her body sideways midair.
The bunting strained.
Then Yesu swung. The world tilted sharply beneath her.
Students pressed against windows watched in horror as she swung across open air, one hand gripping the tearing line while the other stretched toward Trystia.
"Take my hand!" Yesu shouted
Trystia looked up instinctively, terrified.
Their hands collided. Yesu caught her wrist.
Pain shot through her shoulder instantly as Trystia's weight dragged downward.
The bunting gave another violent tear.
No ti.
Yesu used the montum. She swung her arm hard and flung Trystia sideways toward the nearest classroom window.
Glass exploded inward.
Trystia crashed through it with a scream, hitting a row of chairs before tumbling across the classroom floor.
The watching students recoiled in shock. For one frozen second, silence filled the room.
Then the bunting finally gave way. It snapped completely.
Yesu dropped straight down.
She hit the concrete pavent below with a sickening thud. The sound echoed through the school grounds.
Nobody moved.
The students outside stared in shock, and the ones inside stared over the windows.
The boys on the rooftop stood frozen.
Below, Yesu's body remained still against the pavent, blood slowly spreading beneath her.
