With the old lady slain, the situation on the scene returned to Gu Xi’s control.
The original scenario of at least three Otherworldly Ghost Bosses besieging Gu Xi has now turned into a battle between Gu Xi’s troops and one Otherworldly Ghost Boss.
Though the commander shifted from Gu Xi to Luna, the Death Incarnation in the sky provided her with enough confidence.
Under Luna’s command, Gu Xi’s Undead Corps engaged the Crow Soldiers head-on.
The strengths of both sides were similar, and the numbers were also almost the sa. It was now a contest of command.
Luna wasn’t a professional commander, but Gu Xi’s Undead Corps had a complete range of troops, with so flying in the sky and so running on the ground. The most important thing was that each type of Skeleton Soldier could form four unit types, and the cooperation between them was still quite strong.
Unlike the Crow Soldiers, which had only one type of Lancer, under Luna’s control, both sides were evenly matched. Luna even had so Ghost Corps freed to pay attention to Gu Xi’s battle.
With the main battlefield entrusted to Luna, Gu Xi rode the Evil Coffin to the front of the defended building.
Initially, Gu Xi was just chatting with Du Wushuang and didn’t pay attention to the situation of the building behind him.
He didn’t even have ti to ask what this building was for.
Now rushing over, Gu Xi only saw countless white paper pieces falling from the sky, continuously sticking to the outer wall of the building, seemingly transforming it into a paper-crafted edifice.
Death Knight Du Wushuang was tirelessly swinging his Heavy Sword, chopping at the falling white paper pieces, but his attack range was still too small. Once he chopped one white paper piece, another new one imdiately appeared, unable to handle the situation at hand.
Upon seeing Gu Xi’s arrival, Du Wushuang’s helt on his head shook for a mont, but he couldn’t speak at that mont.
"Do you know where the enemy is?"
Seeing the chaotic situation, Gu Xi knew that random slashing wouldn’t work; without finding the enemy, this thod couldn’t be cracked.
Hearing this, Du Wushuang rolled her eyes in her heart. If she knew where the enemy was, it wouldn’t have reached this state.
Seeing that Du Wushuang couldn’t answer, Gu Xi ignored it and shouted, "Death Incarnation, large-scale movent!"
The Death Incarnation, already soaring high, flew straight down from the sky, fully unleashing the effect of the black mist on his body as he descended.
In an area about ten ters from the Death Incarnation, everything would be affected by this black mist.
This was the happiest mont for the Death Incarnation. Previously in Yalidu City, the Death Incarnation was cautious not to release his black mist while flying, fearing it would destroy the buildings below.
Now it was different; Gu Xi demanded full firepower, so it was ti to enjoy it thoroughly.
The Death Incarnation made a dive downward into the falling white paper’s range, tearing all the white paper pieces into fragnts within the black mist; the destruction was much faster than Du Wushuang’s.
With the Death Incarnation taking over, Du Wushuang breathed a sigh of relief. However, he wasn’t idle; when there were no white paper pieces falling from the sky, Du Wushuang dashed toward the building’s periter, cutting off the already stuck white paper pieces.
anwhile, Gu Xi was paying close attention to every move of the Death Incarnation, sensing that such large-scale destruction of the enemy’s attack would force the enemy to employ new tactics.
It was crucial to see where the enemy’s white paper erged from next.
Sure enough, as all the white paper falling from the sky was shattered, new white paper appeared once again.
This ti, Gu Xi noticed the white paper erging from the southeast corner of the building.
At the sa mont, the direction of the white paper attack shifted from the building to the flying Death Incarnation in the sky.
Observing the situation, Gu Xi patted the Evil Coffin with his hand, directing it to head toward the southeast corner of the building.
As he reached that position, Gu Xi happened to see the last piece of white paper fly from the corner of the wall into the sky.
Without hesitation, Gu Xi smashed his Shattering Staff towards that spot.
’Hit sothing.’
Feeling the impact through the Shattering Staff, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up. It was good to have hit sothing; his concern was not hitting anything.
Even if there was a different feeling when hitting soone.
Gu Xi flipped his hand, thrusting the Shattering Staff forward, "Bone Spike!"
A Bone Spike pierced forward, and with a cracking sound, Gu Xi felt as if he had torn sothing apart.
Upon closer inspection, Gu Xi laughed; in front of him was a paper figure that had painted itself as a wall mural.
If it weren’t for Gu Xi hitting it, from a distance, it would be almost impossible to notice a paper figure hidden there.
This was true physical stealth.
While laughing, Gu Xi raised the Shattering Staff, striking the paper figure repeatedly, cursing as he did so.
"A paper figure, huh? Snuck in, huh? Want this building, huh? Go die!"
After a few strikes, Gu Xi smashed the paper figure into fragnts.
Subsequently, Gu Xi waved to the sky, "Fly along the walls and ground, find all the paper figures hidden here."
The black mist swirled around the Death Incarnation, turning all the white paper flying towards him into dust. Simultaneously, as the black mist expanded, the Death Incarnation’s body enlarged once more, taking Gu Xi’s instructions to fly close to the ground and walls.
Initially, Gu Xi intended to pursue the Death Incarnation, but the latter’s flight speed was too fast, outpacing the Evil Coffin. As the Death Incarnation zigzagged right in front of Gu Xi, sweeping back and forth,
Gu Xi stood still, able to see everything clearly.
Just as Gu Xi anticipated, soon several hidden paper figures were discovered by the Death Incarnation.
So paper figures attempted to resist, but their combat power wasn’t strong. With just a turn, they were shredded into fragnts, leaving nothing behind.
Once Gu Xi found the way to break the stalemate, the building behind was no longer affected by paper pieces. Coupled with Du Wushuang’s effort to clear the paper adhered to the building, the building slowly restored its original appearance.
At this point, Gu Xi assessed the state of the building.
It was a two-story oriental-style building. Due to the earlier paper attack, the building’s outer walls had considerably recessed.
However, the interior of the building remained mostly unchanged. Peeking inside, Gu Xi found the interior stocked with a large quantity of rocks and mason tools.
Seeing Gu Xi looking inside, Du Wushuang explained to him, "This is a jewel shop. Besides making jewels, it also crafts stone giants, stone puppets, and stone statues."
Gu Xi instantly understood, realizing that the shop’s main business was likely crafting stones, jewel making being secondary.
