"Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!"
The frail Undead Mage held Gu Xi’s hand, continuously expressing gratitude.
Such politeness left Gu Xi a bit speechless; he couldn’t understand what was going on with this frail Undead Mage, as if he had saved his entire family.
After thanking, the frail Undead Mage didn’t leave but picked up the various bundled potions and started pouring them into his mouth on the spot.
He didn’t care what the attributes of these potions were or if they were poisonous, anyway, all these potions belonged to him now, and he could use them however he wanted.
Gu Xi was also shocked by the scene in front of him and was about to say sothing when a few Undead Mages squeezed in from nearby.
"Stop him!"
"What are you doing?"
Seeing such a situation, Gu Xi couldn’t help but stop them.
"Did you sell poison to this guy? Do you know who you’ve offended?"
One of the Undead Mages hadn’t yet grasped the situation and, seeing Gu Xi co over to stop them, snapped back imdiately.
Gu Xi hadn’t even spoken when the Death Incarnation, lying on the ground, leaned its head over. The Skeleton Dragon’s face was right up to the Undead Mage, and its right eye began to glow with gray light, as if the lting Light would shoot out if the other party said the wrong word.
And at this ti, Gu Xi also lifted his head, "Co, say it again, who did I offend?"
This Undead Mage, suppressed by the aura of the Death Incarnation, took a step back, opened his mouth wanting to say sothing, but he couldn’t speak in front of the Death Incarnation.
Gu Xi stared at this Undead Mage, seeing his hesitant expression, a trace of disdain flashed in his heart.
"Scram!"
"You’ll regret this!"
The few Undead Mages, seeing things weren’t going their way, decided not to provoke any further, threw down so harsh words, and quickly left.
Watching their departing backs, Gu Xi didn’t pay much attention but instead addressed the crowd drawn by the commotion.
"Co, co, have a look, there’s a Skeleton Warhorse and a green equipnt here, anyone interested, they’re on sale."
With this, Gu Xi indeed attracted the attention of so Death Knights, and given that Gu Xi’s asking price wasn’t high—as long as the Death Incarnation was satisfied, green materials would do—so Death Knights did take out so items to catch the Death Incarnation’s interest.
Soon, Gu Xi noticed a Death Knight taking out an item that caught the Death Incarnation’s attention.
It was a stone-like drum.
[Stone Drum (White): A stone drum dug out from a certain graveyard, no one can sound this drum, and no one knows what it’s used for.]
"This one’s good, what do you want for it?"
Gu Xi looked back at the Death Incarnation and found it very pleased with the stone drum, so he hefted the drum, which was taller than him, and tossed it toward the Death Incarnation.
The Death Incarnation opened its mouth and swallowed the stone drum whole.
Gu Xi looked on but didn’t notice any changes in the Death Incarnation.
Not concerned about this point, Gu Xi thought that before, the Death Incarnation had swallowed a pair of tal arms, yet there hadn’t been much change. Such matters always accumulate slowly over ti; there’s no need to rush.
The Death Knight was also delighted to see that Gu Xi had taken a liking to the object he presented.
He pointed at the wrist guards, saying, "I want those wrist guards."
"Take them."
Gu Xi pushed the wrist guards forward, handing them to the Death Knight.
While receiving the wrist guards, the Death Knight quietly said to Gu Xi, "You’ll need to be careful of those Undead Mages from earlier; they’re a dominant force in the Scattered Immortal Garden, and you won’t find peace after offending them this ti."
"What’s going on?"
Gu Xi, intrigued, questioned.
The Death Knight shook his head, took one last glance at the frail Undead Mage still chugging potions on the side, and quickly left.
At this mont, Gu Xi noticed that the frail Undead Mage had already consud half of the magic potions.
Because he drank too many potions, the frail Undead Mage’s stomach noticeably bloated, and the effects of various magic potions were also affecting him, turning his face even paler.
Large beads of sweat dripped down the Undead Mage’s face.
But the Undead Mage didn’t care a bit and kept drinking the magic potions.
Seeing this, Gu Xi realized the problem.
He was about to step forward to stop this Undead Mage from continuing, as many of these potions were untested.
If soone ended up drinking themselves to death, it would be a huge issue.
But just as Gu Xi was about to intervene, a Death Knight nearby inquired.
"Comrade, how about I trade this for the Skeleton Warhorse?"
Interrupted by this, Gu Xi abandoned his approach to the frail Undead Mage and turned to observe what the Death Knight was offering.
It was a green glowing gem, with a head-sized radiance so intense that even the Death Knight himself found it distasteful.
When Gu Xi approached, the Death Knight set the gem on the ground, preparing for Gu Xi to inspect the gem’s attributes.
At this mont, the frail Undead Mage, as though intoxicated by potions, clutched his stomach and staggered over.
"This can’t be accepted."
As he walked, he poured the remaining potions down his throat.
Gu Xi glanced at this Undead Mage, surprised.
"Why?"
The Undead Mage didn’t explain but kept pouring the last of the potions into his mouth.
Once all the magic potions were consud, he covered his mouth to prevent them from being vomited out.
Seeing him like this, Gu Xi was tempted to support him to the side.
The Death Knight didn’t know what to do.
Finally recovering, the Undead Mage said, "That gem is a deceitful object; it may give you certain benefits each day but requires much in offering.
Moreover, you can’t discard it or destroy it; only by soone’s willingness to accept it can you pass it on.
Isn’t that right?"
The Undead Mage looked up at the Death Knight.
That Death Knight seed helpless, but he finally nodded.
"Yes, it’s true, it wasn’t my choice. I saw that you had a Death Incarnation, and considering you’re warm-hearted, I believed such a minor issue wouldn’t trouble you."
Having a Death Incarnation is one thing, but where does being warm-hearted co from?
Gu Xi was utterly confused.
Now the frail Undead Mage also spoke up, "So because he helped , you thought to pass this to him?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Xi’s eyes snapped to attention.
"Is that how it is?"
Under Gu Xi’s gaze, the Death Knight took a step back, not daring to et his eyes.
"Scram!"
Seeing his expression, how could Gu Xi not understand? He shouted, and then waved off the others.
"Everyone go away, the Skeleton Warhorse is off the market. Leave, everyone, leave. Try to sche against again, and I’ll have the Death Incarnation devour you."
