Now reading: Chapter 233 - 231: Tomb Immersed in Water from Undead Mage from a Cell, a Game novel by Yu Min.

Through the pea vine hanging into the large pit, Gu Xi held up the Spirit Lamp and shone it downwards.

A large amount of river water had already flooded the underground tomb, and the Spirit Lamp itself didn’t shine too far. When Gu Xi looked down, all he could see was the pitch-black water surface.

Without thinking much, Gu Xi placed the Evil Coffin onto the water surface right then and there.

Although it couldn’t move through the water, a coffin of that size could still float on the surface.

Once he landed on the Evil Coffin, Gu Xi finally held up the Spirit Lamp to look around.

Gu Xi realized he was already nearly sixty ters away from the ground, and the underground tomb before him was quite large. Although he couldn’t see very far, he could judge from the flow of wind and water that the underground space before him was as vast as Westminster Cathedral Square.

Now, with his thumb dipped in water, Gu Xi stretched his arm forward and felt the direction the wind was coming from.

Gently tapping the front of the Evil Coffin with the Cold Wind Staff, a stream of black gas sprayed from the coffin, heading towards the direction from which the wind blew.

Gu Xi’s plan was simple — to first find the edge of the underground tomb before worrying about anything else.

Once the edge was found, then he could consider other things.

But as soon as the Evil Coffin moved slightly, Gu Xi sensed sothing wasn’t right.

Things suddenly began to erge from beneath the water.

Holding up the Spirit Lamp, Gu Xi looked down and saw nothing but heads floating on the water’s surface, with black hair spreading out like flowers in the water.

For an ordinary person, such a scene would surely be frightening.

Soone knowledgeable about ghosts and spirits might shout, "Floating Corpses!"

Then go on to explain just how terrifying floating bodies in water can be.

But for an Undead Mage like Gu Xi, he simply said one thing.

"Weren’t Britons all supposed to have diterranean hair? These don’t look like it."

Gu Xi then dipped the Cold Wind Staff into the water and pointed forward.

"Bone Storm!"

A Bone Storm surged forward from the direction Gu Xi pointed.

The hair of those floating corpses caught in the Bone Fragnt’s vortex were all entangled together.

They then vanished into the water.

anwhile, Gu Xi calmly raised the Spirit Lamp, carefully watching the distance.

Just then, a massive amount of long black hair shot up from beneath the water, forming a black curtain descending upon Gu Xi from all directions.

Faced with such an attack, Gu Xi rely smiled and did not strike again; he simply followed the previously sent Bone Storm.

When so many floating corpses appeared under the water just now, Gu Xi already had his suspicions.

The Bone Storm was rely a test.

The response from below completely confird Gu Xi’s suspicions.

The scene before him was purely illusions caused by the gathering of Yin Qi.

Otherwise, how could the underground tomb beneath Westminster Cathedral—where the water had only recently flooded—not have floating corpses in these numbers, sothing found only in haunted ’fierce rivers’ filled with drowning spirits?

The most important thing was, they were all female corpses.

This was obviously an illusion, a result of Yin Qi manipulating the senses to frighten oneself.

As an Undead Mage, Gu Xi knew exactly how to handle such situations.

Protect the sole light source, find sothing to lead the way, and just move forward regardless.

This is exactly what Gu Xi did; although the Evil Coffin moved slowly on the water, it still moved.

Ignoring everything else, Gu Xi could soon reach the edge of the tomb by following the direction of the wind.

Once he found the edge, Gu Xi could follow the tomb’s border to search for its main entrance.

By then, finding sothing like the Holy Tree Crown would follow a visible pattern.

All of which was far better than floating on the water, not knowing where he was.

However, the black hair pressing down in front of him irritated Gu Xi, who lanted not having any Fire Magic on hand.

If he did, he would’ve set it all ablaze.

Annoyed, Gu Xi raised the Cold Wind Staff, pointed it in the direction of the black hair.

"Fla Trap!"

In Gu Xi’s eyes, eight red spots of light flickered in the direction of the black hair.

However, Gu Xi’s Fla Trap had no effect on the black hair, as there was no enemy contact to trigger the trap’s explosion.

Add to that the fact that he had not yet begun research on the secondary skill Designated Explosion, Gu Xi was unable to actively detonate the trap. Hence, the Fla Trap could only cling to the black hair, unresponsive.

As Gu Xi charged out, the black hair fell back into the water, once again transforming into black Qi, taking the Fla Traps with it.

After venting so of his frustration with a Fla Trap, Gu Xi refrained from wasting more mana and kept his focus on his target.

After floating on the water’s surface for roughly ten minutes, Gu Xi encountered many strange phenona along the way.

But the illusions triggered by Yin Qi were all in the guise of drowning spirits, whose major flaw couldn’t fool an Undead Mage like Gu Xi.

None of these phenona stopped Gu Xi’s progress.

On the contrary, they assured Gu Xi that his direction was correct.

He completely ignored the mutations within the space, using the Bone Storm to clear a path as he moved forward in the direction of the wind.

Once a Bone Storm ended, a new one imdiately took its place.

Ti and again, using the Bone Storm to penetrate the Yin Qi’s illusions.

Finally, after traversing the water for about twenty minutes, Gu Xi could see the wall of this underground tomb.

Through the faint light of the Spirit Lamp, Gu Xi saw a massive crack running along the tomb wall.

The wind was blowing from this crack.

The entire crack was seven or eight ters wide, and around it were the roots of an apple tree that hadn’t had ti to retreat.

"Let’s go take a look."

At Gu Xi’s command, the Evil Coffin picked up speed, while a shadow of a city gate appeared behind him, and Luna led a group of ghosts flying out from the gate.

Upon spotting the crack in the wall, Luna needed no orders; she led the ghosts forward, intending to assess the safety of the crack before Gu Xi could catch up.

Gu Xi raised his left hand high to allow the Spirit Lamp to illuminate more areas. He had already noticed the wall with the crack bore many murals.

Since the water hadn’t yet been present for long, the murals were only minimally affected by moisture and erosion, allowing Gu Xi to understand their contents very clearly.

The tomb entombed an unrecorded Princess of Britain.
